Director, Order to Cash

You Will:

  • Lead the Order to Cash (O2C) Function End-to-End: Develop and execute the overall strategy for the O2C lifecycle, from order management to revenue recognition, while building and optimizing the team, systems, and processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Build and Lead a High-Performance Billing & Customer Operations Team: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team that ensures timely and accurate customer invoicing and collections. Drive performance through continuous training and by fostering a culture of accountability and operational rigor.
  • Develop Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Accounts, and other key stakeholders to formalize and refine processes and policies that drive seamless execution of the quote-to-cash cycle. Ensure alignment across teams and departments to minimize friction and optimize outcomes.
  • Optimize AR/Collections Processes: Design and implement a streamlined accounts receivable and collections process with a focus on reducing DSO and improving cash flow. Regularly review metrics and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Own the Billing and Orders Ticket Queues: Own the management of billing and order-related support tickets, ensuring timely resolution. Build out automated tracking and prioritization mechanisms to decrease ticket resolution time and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide Data-Driven Insights: Develop comprehensive reporting dashboards and analyze ticket data to highlight trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Present actionable insights to leadership to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Ensure Timely, Accurate Customer Billing: Lead initiatives to ensure all customer billings are timely, accurate, and in compliance with internal policies and contractual agreements. Mitigate issues and enhance customer experience through process optimization.
  • Influence Product and Process Enhancements: Collaborate with product teams to identify opportunities for system improvements that will enhance the customer experience around billing, order management, and payment processing.
  • Partner with Accounting for Reporting and Reconciliation: Work closely with accounting to ensure proper reconciliation of billing and collections, as well as accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards.
  • Manage Sales Tax Compliance & Exemption Processes: Oversee sales tax reconciliations and tax-exempt management in Avalara, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and minimizing risk.
  • Establish and Maintain Billing & Operations Policies: Draft, maintain, and regularly update Rockbot’s billing and operations policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct Monthly and Quarterly Audits: Spearhead internal audits of the O2C processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address any identified issues.
  • Drive Automation and Continuous Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance operational efficiency across the O2C function. Leverage technology and data to drive scalability as the business grows.

You have:

  • Operations/Billing/Orders: 10+ years of experience in order and billing operations or related fields. 
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years in a managerial or director-level role, where you have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Order to Cash Process Expertise: Extensive experience in the Order to Cash cycle, including order management, billing, and collections.
  • NetSuite Experience: Significant hands-on experience with NetSuite (3+ years) including implementation, customization, and optimization of NetSuite for Order to Cash processes.
  • Experience with large-scale processes serving and scaling tens of thousands of customers.
  • Experience with multiple product and revenue streams.
  • Experience with these systems preferred: Salesforce, Avalara, Paystand, PandaDoc, ZenDesk.
  • A Builder’s mentality.

Compensation:

Rockbot takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location in the U.S. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

The compensation band for this role is $165K - $200K base plus equity, and benefits for all team members.
