
Machine Operator - SMT (Second Shift)
2nd Shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Position Summary
The Machine Operator is accountable for setting up, operating, and maintaining SMT equipment to produce high-quality PCBAs. This role is essential for ensuring consistent throughput, compliance with IPC standards, and timely delivery to customers. Operators are expected to adhere to detailed work instructions, maintain rigorous quality standards, and work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
Core Tasks
SMT (Surface Mount Technology)

Set up and operate SMT pick-and-place machines, stencil printers, and reflow ovens.

Perform feeder loading, program verification, and line changeovers.

Monitor first-pass yield and escalate machine or process issues as necessary.
General Responsibilities

Maintain accurate travelers, log sheets, and production records.

Adhere to ESD, safety, and cleanroom protocols.

Support First Article Inspections and collaborate with QC to address defects.

Assist in cross-training initiatives and provide support in areas experiencing bottlenecks.

Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and propose enhancements for efficiency or quality.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
Technical Competencies

Hands-on experience operating SMT, Through-Hole, or Conformal Coating equipment (any combination acceptable; cross-training will be provided).

Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (Class II & III) and J-STD-001 workmanship standards.

Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and escalate technical issues effectively.

Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with precision machinery.
