
Test Operator (Second Shift)
About the Role
As a Test Operator at Rocket EMS, you will be responsible for performing in-circuit, functional, and system-level testing of PCB assemblies to ensure products meet customer and quality requirements. You’ll operate a variety of test equipment, follow established procedures, and work closely with engineers and technicians to identify and resolve issues. This role requires attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a strong commitment to quality in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities

Review traveler documents, MPIs, ECOs, and customer requirements prior to test.

Operate ICT, functional testers, boundary scan systems, and other automated/manual test equipment.

Perform electrical and functional verification of PCB assemblies according to established procedures.

Accurately record test results, log failures, and maintain test documentation.

Identify, classify, and isolate failures; escalate issues to technicians or engineers for debug.

Ensure all test equipment is set up, calibrated, and functioning properly before use.

Follow ESD, MSD, and safety protocols during all handling and test operations.

Communicate daily pass-downs to leads, supervisors, and engineers.

Support NPIs and engineering builds by running test programs and providing feedback.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to test yield, throughput, and reliability.
Qualifications
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Technical coursework in electronics or related field preferred.
Experience
-
1–2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or test operations.

Familiarity with ICT, functional test, or system-level test equipment a plus.
Skills
-
Basic knowledge of electronics and PCB assemblies.

Ability to read and follow written test procedures and travelers.

Competent in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, or other basic test instruments.

Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data entry and reporting.

Good communication skills and ability to work with technicians and engineers.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
