Machine Maintenance Technician (Second Shift)

About the Role

As a Machine Maintenance Technician at Rocket EMS, you will be responsible for keeping our production equipment running at peak performance. You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT, Through-Hole, AOI/AXI, and other specialized electronics manufacturing equipment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to minimize downtime in a fast-paced production environment.


Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT placement machines, screen printers, reflow ovens, selective soldering, AOI/AXI, and conformal coating systems.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software-related issues on production equipment.

  • Respond quickly to machine stoppages; minimize downtime and restore operations efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate service logs, PM checklists, and repair records.

  • Coordinate with engineers, production, and quality teams to support continuous production flow.

  • Order and manage spare parts inventory; work with vendors for service and technical support.

  • Support installation, calibration, and qualification of new production equipment.

  • Train operators and leads on basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe machine operation.

  • Follow and enforce all safety, ESD, and equipment handling procedures.

  • Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, throughput, and efficiency.


Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

  • Technical certification or associate’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, or related field preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience maintaining SMT or electronic assembly equipment in a contract manufacturing or similar environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Juki, Panasonic, DEK, Heller, or comparable systems preferred.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.

  • Familiarity with PLCs, motion control, and machine software interfaces.

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) for logging and reporting.

  • Strong communication skills; able to work with operators, engineers, and management.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a production environment.

Pay Range

$22 - $25 USD
