
Machine Maintenance Technician (Second Shift)
About the Role
As a Machine Maintenance Technician at Rocket EMS, you will be responsible for keeping our production equipment running at peak performance. You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT, Through-Hole, AOI/AXI, and other specialized electronics manufacturing equipment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to minimize downtime in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT placement machines, screen printers, reflow ovens, selective soldering, AOI/AXI, and conformal coating systems.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software-related issues on production equipment.

Respond quickly to machine stoppages; minimize downtime and restore operations efficiently.

Maintain accurate service logs, PM checklists, and repair records.

Coordinate with engineers, production, and quality teams to support continuous production flow.

Order and manage spare parts inventory; work with vendors for service and technical support.

Support installation, calibration, and qualification of new production equipment.

Train operators and leads on basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe machine operation.

Follow and enforce all safety, ESD, and equipment handling procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, throughput, and efficiency.
Qualifications
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Technical certification or associate’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
Experience
-
2+ years of experience maintaining SMT or electronic assembly equipment in a contract manufacturing or similar environment.

Hands-on experience with Juki, Panasonic, DEK, Heller, or comparable systems preferred.
Skills

Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities.

Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.

Familiarity with PLCs, motion control, and machine software interfaces.

Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) for logging and reporting.

Strong communication skills; able to work with operators, engineers, and management.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure in a production environment.

Pay Range
$22 - $25 USD
