Position Summary
The Receiving Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming electronic components, printed circuit boards, and sheet metal parts to ensure materials meet purchase order requirements, customer specifications, drawings, and applicable quality standards. This role supports a fast-paced PCBA manufacturing environment and helps prevent nonconforming material from entering production.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming electronic components, PCBs, and sheet metal parts against purchase orders, drawings, specifications, and supplier documentation.
- Verify manufacturer name, manufacturer part number, part size, component value, markings, shelf life, date codes, and lot codes.
- Review component datasheets to confirm markings, identification, and specification requirements.
- Use inspection tools such as digital calipers, pin gauges, and multimeters to verify material compliance.
- Check packing lists against received items and purchase order requirements.
- Perform PCB receiving inspection per drawings and applicable inspection criteria, when assigned.
- Perform sheet metal inspection per drawings and dimensional requirements.
- Record inspection results accurately in required systems or logs.
- Identify discrepancies and raise Technical Inquiries as needed.
- Create NCMR reports for nonconforming products and move rejected material to the MRB cage.
- Communicate quality issues clearly with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of receiving inspection experience in a contract manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, PCBA, or similar environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret component drawings, datasheets, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
- Hands-on experience identifying electronic components and verifying component markings.
- Ability to use digital calipers, pin gauges, and multimeters.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of IPC-A-600 workmanship standards.
- Experience inspecting PCBs, electronic components, and sheet metal parts in a PCBA manufacturing environment.
Pay Range
$22 - $25 USD
