MACHINE SHOP SUPERVISOR – 2ND SHIFT
The Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for all machining processes within the shop. This candidate will be tasked with ensuring all areas of production are meeting corporate goals.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
- Lead and mentor a team of machinists and programmers.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals and expectations.
- Coordinate work schedules and assignments to optimize productivity.
- Work closely with manufacturing planners for efficient scheduling and prioritization of jobs.
- Implement and oversee quality control measures.
- Continual optimization of machining processes for efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and other departments for process improvements.
- Coordinate repairs with the maintenance teams in a timely manner.
- Enforce safety protocols in the machine shop.
- Identify training needs for the team.
- Develop and foster strong relationships with upper management.
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AS A MACHINE SHOP SUPERVISOR:
- 5+ years in the role of a CNC machinist.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and Six Sigma.
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing operations, including machining processes.
- Experience converting labor intensive machining processes into lights out machining scenarios.
- Experience leading machinists and technicians to work with CNC programmers, manufacturing engineers and quality engineers on processes development and continuous improvements efforts.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Well versed in GD&T and inspection procedures and processes.
- Experience working with DMG Equipment- CMX-NVX, NLX 2500- 4000, DMU 50, 85,125. Siemens control experience.
- Production planning and scheduling machining efficiency.
- Experience working with production machine shop tracking metrics.
- Experience in evaluating teams and generating mid-term and annual reviews and presenting to lead persons and technicians.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of team management.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and drive innovation within the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to work 2nd shift (Monday- Friday 2:30pm - 12:00am).
- Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours.
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
- Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
- 3–5-year management experience in Aerospace environment.
- R&D manufacturing experience.
- Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods – 8 hours min.
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted.
Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base Pay Range (CA Only)
$80,000 - $122,000 USD
