SENIOR CONTENT PRODUCER

The Content Producer is a visual storyteller. Based in our Long Beach headquarters, this role will support the Senior Video Content Producer to tell Rocket Lab’s story through videos and photography. This role will conceptualize, produce, shoot and edit engaging video and photos for use on web, social media, webcasts, events/tradeshows, and internal presentations. The Content Producer will also support the production of Rocket Lab’s live launch webcasts.

On any given day this role could find themselves filming an Archimedes hot fire, setting up remote cameras for an Electron launch from LC-2, planning a film shoot with executives and team members, editing footage of the latest spacecraft integration, creating reels for social media, or shooting content in one of our many production facilities across five states.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

Content Production

  • Drive the concept and storyboarding processes for new content
  • Plan, film, produce, and edit a range of video and photography products including rocket and spacecraft tests, launches, media events and employee events and for use on social media, online and TV, conferences, presentations and events.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external talent for filming, including coordinating shoot dates, briefing talent, and arranging contractor support as required.
  • Create, organize, and archive assets.
  • Clean and maintain gear and equipment
  • Proactively identify opportunities to tell Rocket Lab’s story through visual content.

Launch Webcasts

  • Support the Senior Video Content Producer in delivering live webcasts for launches, product releases, investor events and company town-halls.

Photography

  • Photograph key Rocket Lab events, milestones, products and people
  • Photo editing

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in both video and still camera operation, production coordination and post-production, or 9+ YOE in lieu of degree.
  • Experience using video and photo editing software (Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder)

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into strong visual creative tailored to audience needs
  • Proven ability to concept, script, produce, and edit compelling and impactful videos from start to finish
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all areas of the business to ensure content is timely, accurate, on brand and great quality
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and meet tight deadlines
  • Basic knowledge of technical production basics for live webcasts
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Eager to learn new skills and take on new challenges beyond existing experience
  • Can-do attitude
  • A keen interest in space exploration and technology

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel.
  • Must be willing to work some weekends to support launch operations and critical project timelines.
  • Must provide links to portfolio and/or previous video and photography work with your application.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base Pay Range (CA Only)

$100,000 - $130,000 USD
