SUPPLY CHAIN
Rocket Lab’s Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers’ missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together and are critical to our success.
SENIOR INVENTORY COORDINATOR
Based onsite at Rocket Lab’s PSC office in Silver Spring, MD, the Senior Inventory Coordinator is tasked with all aspects of inventory management from receiving, putting into inventory, counting, and kitting, inwards and outwards goods. There are thousands of components that are used on Electron and millions of dollars of inventory that need to be received, stored, and kitted for production. Maintaining inventory accuracy through adherence to process, and customer satisfaction of just-in-time fulfillment makes the inventory coordinator a critical role in the "last mile" of our supply chain.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO
- Fulfilling inventory pick requests, and compiling full car part kits for production
- Receiving inventory into MRP, and conducting paper and visual inspections
- Manage inventory levels within MRP, and transactions for inventory moves.
- Managing advanced kitting system (Kanban, line-side replenishment, etc.)
- Maintaining accurate inventory counts and storage locations within ERP/MRP
- Proactively report minimum stock levels
- Perform daily cycle count processing.
- Review, pick, organize, and put away standard hardware, purchased materials, parts, and assemblies.
- Kit work orders safely and timely in accordance to company standards.
- Maintain the inventory of kitting supplies and materials.
- Liaise with material planner department, to ensure production components are pulled and issued on time.
- Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with good practice/ procedures.
- Ensuring that the database correctly captures movements of all components, including inwards goods and storeroom functions.
- Ensuring all parts are receipted into and issued out of the MRP system in a timely manner to ensure stock levels and movements are recorded.
- Unboxing and processing incoming goods and distributing across the organization including receipting parts into the appropriate software.
- Ensuring serial and lot numbers are recorded in the system if required.
- Passing goods on to quality control if required
- Store is set up to meet needs of the business and parts movements in and out of the storeroom are recorded accurately.
- Standard Warehouse Management principles are adhered to and inventory levels are accurate.
- Cycle counts are completed in line with company requirements.
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and tidy while maintaining tool accountability.
- Abide by all applicable health and safety legislation and Rocket Lab policies and procedures.
- Work effectively with all staff towards the goals of the company.
- Additional duties as reasonably required.
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma and 5+ years of experience.
- Proficient using Microsoft Products. (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
- Ability to independently perform a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job.
- Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or other heavy manufacturing.
- Experience with control and tracking of serial, and lot-controlled materials.
- Experience with ERP Systems.
- Prior experience in high-paced, rapid growth environment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be physically able to commute to buildings
- Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base Pay Range (MD Only)
$30 - $40 USD
