Duties:
- Modelling and texturing 3D character assets to established internal benchmarks
- Importing and assembling character components within the game engine
- High adaptability to working with proprietary toolsets and pipelines
- Collaboration across multiple departments and time zones
- Time management to deliver work in an appropriate timely manner
- Expected to actively seek reviews and feedback from peers, leads and directors across multi-disciplinary departments to deliver artwork to a high-quality standard
- Provide personal insight and creative ideas to aid in developing more effective workflows and improvements to editors and tools.
- Maintaining an understanding of current and future industry standards and practices on both a personal and professional level
Requirements:
- A University degree in visual arts with specialization in graphic design, commercial art, graphic communications, cartooning or completion of a college diploma program in graphic arts is required
- A portfolio demonstrating creative ability and artistic talent is required
- 2+ years of AAA game development experience as a character artist and/or 3+ years of relevant education with degree (Traditional Art, Game Art, Game Development)
- Autodesk 3DS Max / Maya or equivalent industry standard 3D modelling software (mid to high level)
- ZBrush (mid to high level)
- Adobe Photoshop (mid to high level)
- Adobe Substance Painter / Designer (high level)
- TopoGun or equivalent re-topology tools (mid to high level)
- Knald
- Version control software
- 3D modelling and efficient UV fundamentals
- General understanding of industry level character creation and character customization principles and standards
- Art fundamentals related to human form (anatomy, cloth and drapery, materials and surfacing)
- Syncing and running deployed builds of the game
- Mid to high level understanding of real-time rendering environments and game engines
