Rockstar is on the lookout for a System Administrator who is passionate about providing 24x7 Network Operations and Support.
This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s large game development studio in Bangalore, India.
WHAT WE DO
- The Rockstar Games Online System Administrator team provides 24x7 Network Operations to our online games, features, and services.
- We hands-on support to the Operations of online and development environments.
- We build/plan infrastructure for upcoming releases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, and administer Windows/Linux systems in a highly available, pubic-facing environment.
- Deploy and administer SQL Server 2017/2019 in clustered/non-clustered configurations, with patching and migrations.
- Develop standard operating procedures for high availability, perform routine maintenance, and support root cause analysis efforts.
- Run IIS/.Net C# applications and local VMware multi-cluster environment.
- Ensure high availability during system maintenance, patching, and hardware upgrades.
- Perform L1/L2 MS Active Directory administration and monitor services (Check MK, Splunk, Grafana).
- Provide timely and creative solutions to difficult problems.
- Work with Data Center technicians to plan hardware maintenance and resolve hardware related issues.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of demonstrable ability in a Linux and/or Windows environment using related technologies and standards such as DHCP, DNS, DFS, LDAP, IPSEC, CIFS, SMB, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with IT certifications, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience administering systems in high-traffic, public-facing environments, with hands-on experience in VMWare, IIS, SQL Server, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Apache, Mongo, and MySQL.Good understanding of TCP/IP networks, with good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain composed in fast paced situations, balancing multiple projects, and communicating efficiently.
- Proficient in scripting languages: PowerShell/DSC, Bash, Shell, Python, PHP, and/or Perl.
- Strong analytical thinking, with knowledge of complex IT systems, network topology, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with REST API automation, and ability to work with distributed teams to develop automated workflows using PowerShell/DSC and Chef.
PLUSES

- MCSE/MCITP certification, or equivalent experience.
- RHEL certifications or equivalent experience.
- Experience with supporting online gaming development and production environments.
- General Cisco IOS administration experience for adding removing VLANS, setting up ACLs.
- Experience with L1/L2 MS Active Directory administration.
- Knowledge of C#.
