Associate QA Tester: Code Support

Rockstar is on the lookout for passionate, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Associate QA Tester: Code Support to join our internal QA team. Please note that a bespoke cover letter demonstrating your interest in Rockstar and how you meet the skills above is required when applying. 

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s game development studio in Andover, MA. 

WHAT WE DO

  • Work closely with development teams to test upcoming game features, systems, and bug fixes.
  • Support ongoing development by reporting issues in a concise and timely manner, to ensure the stability and usability of internal game builds.
  • Collaborate with the global QA teams, assisting them with custom builds as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working as part of a small group to efficiently test internal game builds, proactively troubleshooting and reporting issues.
  • Collaborating with colleagues at both local and remote studio locations across multiple time zones.
  • Rapidly learning our proprietary tools and methods, developing a deep understanding of our game systems and how they interact.
  • Testing additional systems or game features as needed and promptly responding to ad-hoc or time-sensitive test requests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An interest in, and experience of, the technical aspects of game development.
  • Familiarity with the games QA process.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A high standard of written English.
  • A strong understanding of recent Rockstar titles, both online and single player.

SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate concisely, confidently and accurately both in-person and electronically.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and workflows.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to express thoughts and opinions openly and constructively.
  • Ability to become quickly accustomed to various in-house software systems.

PLUSES

  • Previous industry experience in a QA or related role is beneficial but not required.
