Rockstar is on the lookout for an Associate Animation Content Developer who is passionate about animation and video games.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Rockstar’s large game development studio in Bangalore, India.
WHAT WE DO
- The Rockstar Games Content Development Team uses both technical and innovative skills to develop content that supports and enhances cinematic visions.
- We build smooth and reliable animation workflows to ensure the accuracy of content delivery.
- We collaborate with code teams to validate new features, improve workflows, and contribute to ongoing tool development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle tagging and implementation of animation data using in-house tools, ensuring accuracy and consistency in metadata application.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to cinematics, including rigging, tools, and game engine integration with cinematic animations and in-game implementation.
- Maintain clear documentation and communication, ensuring all changes, issues, and feedback are supervised and addressed efficiently.
- Perform initial testing on tools, technologies, and processes, and provide actionable feedback prior to wider team adoption.
REQUIREMENTS
- Outstanding demo reel showcasing your understanding of games or features you’ve developed or implemented.
- Formal training or coursework in Game Development / Technical Art / 3D Animation / Rigging.
- Proactively address technical issues in the cinematic pipeline by using a problem-solving mentality.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate efficiently with distributed team members.
- Adaptable to evolving tools, pipelines, and workflows.
- Familiarity with game engines or editors (Unreal Engine, proprietary tools).
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Animation or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Python scripting or similar automation.
- Experience in game engines (Unreal Engine, GODOT, Unity).
- Expertise in MotionBuilder, basic understanding of UI, Story, Motion Capture editing and constraints.
