Associate Animation Content Developer: Cinematics

Rockstar India is on the lookout for a talented Associate Animation Content Developer, who possess a passion for animation and video games.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Rockstar’s large game development studio in Bangalore, India. 

WHAT WE DO

  • We use both technical skills and creative understanding to support the cinematic vision.
  • We create smooth and reliable animation workflows to ensure error-free content delivery.
  • We collaborate with code teams to validate new features, enhance workflows, and contribute to ongoing tool development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle tagging and implementation of animation data using in-house tools, ensuring accuracy and consistency in metadata application.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to cinematics, including rigging, tools, and game engine integration with cinematic animations and in-game implementation.
  • Maintain clear documentation and communication, ensuring all changes, issues, and feedback are tracked and addressed efficiently.
  • Perform initial testing on tools, technologies, and processes, and provide actionable feedback prior to wider team adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animation or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding demo reel.
  • Formal training or coursework in Game Development / Technical Art / 3D Animation / Rigging.

SKILLS

  • Proactively address technical issues in the cinematic pipeline by using a problem-solving mentality.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work closely with members of our global teams.
  • Highly adaptable to evolving tools, pipelines, and workflows.
  • Familiarity with game engines or editors (Unreal Engine, proprietary tools).

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

  • Experience with Python scripting or similar automation.
  • Experience in game engines (Unreal Engine, GODOT, Unity).
