About the Solution Design & Delivery Team

The Solution Design & Delivery (SD&D) team within Roivant IT ensures the technical direction of projects and programs aligns with the enterprise architecture vision, supports teams with solution design, and manages technical dependencies across the portfolio. The team owns and develops reference and future-state architecture and ensures strong Enterprise Architecture practices. SD&D supports requirements gathering, design, and technical leadership during enterprise platform implementations and cross-platform integrations. The team also serves as the primary liaison with vendors for post go-live application support and releases.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect for Financial Systems to join the Solution Design & Delivery team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and brings deep expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud-based platforms, and cross-platform integration, with deep, hands-on specialization in enterprise finance systems and the integration ecosystem. The Senior Solution Architect will own and drive the design and delivery of complex solutions across multiple technology areas with limited oversight, independently resolve non-routine technical problems, and serve as a subject matter resource for the broader IT organization. This individual will balance multiple concurrent assignments, mentor junior team members, and provide technical leadership throughout all phases of the system development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

  • Assess the current-state integration landscape across enterprise finance systems and define a future-state integration architecture vision, including governance standards for integration development, security, testing, deployment, and operations
  • Own and drive end-to-end solution architecture and design for enterprise platform implementations, ensuring alignment with the reference and future-state architecture vision
  • Articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architectures with scalability, supportability, security, and regulatory compliance in mind
  • Develop and maintain detailed configuration specifications, integration blueprints, and architecture documentation for assigned systems and platforms
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of Roivant’s objectives and recommend approaches that increase cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and innovation
  • Contribute insight, risk assessment, and alternative perspectives on technical and delivery decisions; highlight the implications of technical choices across multiple platforms or areas of IT
  • Define the AI strategy for financial systems, identifying where AI-enabled workflows can replace or improve manual and existing automated processes

Delivery & Execution

  • Lead internal and external technical resources performing analysis, design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment activities across enterprise applications
  • Allocate and manage Managed Service Provider (MSP) work within approved spend, ensuring delivery adheres to defined solution architecture, technical standards, and quality expectations
  • Manage end-to-end execution for assigned systems, projects, or complex workstreams with minimal oversight; deliver work to a consistently high and repeatable standard
  • Oversee the development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of highly scalable, secure solutions that are optimized for performance and compliant with industry regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR, SOX)
  • Manage budget, issues, risks, quality, and schedule for technical workstreams and escalate relevant technical risks and issues proactively
  • Manage vendor-driven releases end-to-end, including detailed technical assessment of release impact against existing configurations, customizations, integrations, and business processes/workflows; define and oversee unit & system testing; manage through production deployment
  • Apply strategic release management practices, batching enhancement and change requests into structured release cycles based on business priority, technical dependencies, and system constraints
  • Independently represent IT on cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with business partners and sponsors to translate business requirements into system designs and software solutions

Integration & Platform Management

  • Design and implement cloud-to-cloud, API, microservices, and file-based (SFTP/flat file) integrations across enterprise finance platforms using integration tools and technologies (e.g., Celigo, CI/CD pipelines, APIs, Boomi, MuleSoft_
  • Evaluate and present multiple viable technical options for vendor data exchange and integration, with documented pros, cons, and architectural trade-offs to inform stakeholder decision-making
  • Conduct detailed technical review of vendor-supplied integration and connectivity documentation (e.g., SFTP setup forms, API specifications, security questionnaires) to proactively identify constraints, dependencies, or requirements (e.g., static IP whitelisting) that may conflict with Roivant's technical environment, escalating risks before they become implementation blockers
  • Conduct systematic, end-to-end technical impact assessments for proposed system and master data changes (e.g., chart-of-accounts structure changes, new master data values), identifying downstream effects across integrated platforms, master records, and transactions in all non-terminal states before implementation begins
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with vendors for post go-live application support, releases, and enhancements to meet evolving business needs
  • Support the L1/L2 support organization to ensure existing systems meet stability, performance, and capacity requirements; develop transition documentation and training materials
  • Partner with the Information Security team to ensure all solutions meet required cybersecurity standards and regulatory compliance

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise financial systems, partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders across varying levels of seniority
  • Present technical solutions, project status, and recommendations to department leadership and cross-functional teams; translate technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and lead meetings with clear structure and purpose
  • Collaborate in the creation of strategy within scope for their domain, aligning individual goals to department strategy and contributing to roadmap planning

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT solution architecture, application design and development, or technical delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead architect role
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in core enterprise finance systems and their integration ecosystem -- specifically NetSuite, Coupa, OneStream, Concur, and FloQast (and similar SaaS platforms used in life sciences)
  • Demonstrated experience designing cloud-based SaaS architectures and cloud-to-cloud, API, microservices, and file-based (SFTP/flat file) integrations using integration platforms (e.g., Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft,) and CI/CD tooling
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and the ability to develop reference and future-state architecture artifacts
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably biopharma or life sciences, with knowledge of relevant compliance standards (21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR, SOX)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to present technical solutions and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Experience working with offshore and onshore resources, as well as onsite and remote stakeholders across parent and subsidiary organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with additional finance/procurement systems and adjacent platforms (e.g., Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE and Workiva) beyond the core finance systems stack
  • Experience with application integration technologies such as GitLab, Python, JSON, APIs, and off-the-shelf integration tools
  • Held previous roles as a system administrator for enterprise financial systems
  • Knowledge of software validation practices and SOX controls for financial applications
  • Experience operating within a parent-subsidiary matrix organization
