VP People & Culture

Austin, Texas

About ROLLER

ROLLER is a venue management platform built for the attractions and leisure industry, powering ticketing, point-of-sale, memberships, and guest experience for over 3,500 venue customers worldwide. Raised $110M in funding — including a $50M round led by Insight Partners and J.P. Morgan — we've grown to 300+ employees globally and process billions of dollars in transaction volume each year. We're entering our next stage of growth, and we're looking for a People leader to build the high-performance organisation that will take us there.

About the Role

As VP, People & Culture, you'll own how ROLLER attracts, hires and engages its people and partners with leaders to build a scalable, high performing culture. You'll lead a lean, high-leverage team across People Partnering, Talent Acquisition and People Operations, and be a trusted adviser to the CEO and SLT.

Based in Austin, you'll work from our office three days a week with two flexible remote days, giving you valuable in-person time with your team and cross-functional partners without losing the autonomy experienced leaders expect. If you're drawn to global leadership scope, a growth-stage company where your fingerprints will be on the outcome, and an industry built around genuinely fun employee experiences, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic leadership — Build the P&C strategy to align with the ROLLER company strategy and commercial outcomes; drive execution to plan with your team;
  • People Partnering — Coach and manage our Senior P&C Business Partners and Advisers, enabling them to be proactive, high impact advisers on talent and performance.  Be the escalation point for employee relations across AU, US and UK. Advise the CEO and SLT on org design, capability needs and succession to enable scalable growth
  • Talent Acquisition — Coach and manage the Head of Talent Acquisition on meeting delivery expectations. Lead annual workforce planning in partnership with Finance.
  • People Operations — Coach and manage the Senior Manager, People Ops & Enablement. Set the direction and hold the bar for how our people systems, policy, compliance & WHS scale across AU, US and UK through our next phase of growth. Champion employee experience and engagement at SLT.
  • Embed ROLLER's performance identity — a culture that is tenacious, driven and lifts others up where hiring, onboarding and engagement reinforce high performance.
  • Lead work redesign for AI — help leaders break roles into skills, decide what the machine does versus people, and lead the change. Use AI and automation to keep P&C lean (sourcing, screening, onboarding, people reporting).
  • Retain a high-leverage team — Lead a lean, multi-region P&C team, focused on professional growth and performance through change. Keep the team connected across locations, set a high bar for pace and quality, and lift capability so each person's impact grows as the business scales

What You'll Bring

  • 12+ years in People leadership, including 5+ years leading multi-discipline teams (Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, People Ops) at a high-growth SaaS or tech company.
  • Experience scaling a global organisation through 300 to 600+ people, with strong tenure (4+ years) in at least one recent company on a relevant growth curve.
  • Demonstrated use of AI and automation in people processes, and experience leading work redesign and change.
  • A track record as a trusted adviser to a CEO and executive team, with the commercial acumen to prioritise what moves the business.
  • Deep employee relations and employment practice experience across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Comfort building process, playbooks and people data in a lean, evolving team rather than inheriting a mature one.
  • A high bar for pace and performance in your own team, and a record of lifting a team's capability.

What Success Looks Like

You'll be accountable for the metrics that show P&C is driving business impact: hiring plan delivery, time-to-hire and quality of hire, agency spend, regretted attrition, engagement scores, manager capability uplift. Leaders invite P&C into the room because it brings a valuable perspective — and ROLLER is known in the talent market as a place people aspire to work and grow.
