VP, Product
About the Role
We're in search of an exceptional VP of Product to lead our product organization and drive Roo's next stage of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the management team, you'll oversee Product Management and Design, ensuring our cross-functional squads are positioned for success. Your mandate: deliver innovative, high-impact solutions that delight our users and expand our impact in our industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align Product Strategy & Priorities. Establish the principles and frameworks that enable squads to make high-impact decisions independently while staying aligned with company objectives. Ensure strategy evolves in response to user insights, data, and market conditions, fostering collaboration across teams without centralizing control.
- Lead & Scale High-Performing Teams. Hire, mentor, and manage Product Managers and Designers. Shape team culture, establish clear roles and responsibilities, and empower squads to move quickly and autonomously.
- Drive Squad Execution. Ensure each cross-functional squad (with PM, Design, and Engineering) is aligned on goals, timelines, and deliverables. Facilitate collaboration, clear obstacles, and uphold accountability for results.
- Champion Customer-Centricity. Advocate for the needs of pet owners, veterinary professionals, and our broader ecosystem. Leverage user research, data, and empathy to guide product decisions that truly make a difference.
- Collaborate with Executive Stakeholders. Work closely with the CEO, Engineering, Data, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to align product initiatives with company-wide objectives. Communicate progress, pivots, and wins transparently.
- Own Key Product Metrics. Define and monitor critical KPIs—such as engagement, retention, and conversion. Use quantitative and qualitative data to iterate rapidly and drive continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven Product Leadership. 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years building and leading product teams at scale (startup/high-growth settings & marketplaces preferred).
- Strategic Vision & Execution. A track record of turning high-level business objectives into tangible product strategies, then seeing those strategies through to impactful launches.
- Design & User Experience Acumen. Deep appreciation for design’s role in product success—whether you’ve overseen design directly or partnered closely to ensure cohesive user experiences.
- Data-Driven Mindset. Proficient at leveraging analytics and experimentation to inform decisions. Adept at balancing quantitative insights with user-centric empathy.
- Collaborative Communicator. Skilled at influencing across varied stakeholders, from front-line teams to executives. You excel at uniting people around a shared product vision.
- Bias for Action. You seize opportunities and solve problems proactively. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, learning quickly, and pivoting when needed.
