With a talented team of 600+ Roofsters, our collaborative, can-do culture is what fuels our growth. In 2022, we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in California, Texas, and New York as well as many remote opportunities. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors).
About the Role
As the Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of Roofstock’s retail business (focused on individual investors) by identifying and securing strategic partnerships with service providers across the real estate ownership lifecycle. You’ll leverage your extensive network and deal-making expertise to form relationships with key partners that will drive new customer acquisition and enhance product offerings. In addition to distribution partnerships, you’ll collaborate closely with product teams to forge partnerships with third parties to support strategic product initiatives around critical focus areas such as lending and insurance. The ideal candidate is a seasoned dealmaker with a proven track record of using partnerships to drive revenue and growth, and has a deep understanding of the real estate and prop-tech landscape. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of Roofstock's growth strategy by identifying, negotiating, and executing key partnership deals.
- Identify and evaluate strategic distribution partnership opportunities that will help grow Roofstock’s retail business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners in the real estate and prop-tech sectors to drive customer acquisition and brand awareness.
- Negotiate, structure, and execute partnership agreements that align with business goals and deliver measurable results.
- Collaborate with the Product team to identify, evaluate, and execute partnerships for key product initiatives and integrations with third-party solutions.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations teams to ensure strategic buy-in and seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
- Develop and manage a robust pipeline of partnership opportunities, and track the performance and impact of partnerships to ensure ongoing optimization.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the curve on potential partnership opportunities.
- Present partnership opportunities and outcomes to senior leadership, including actionable insights and growth strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in real estate technology and fintech, and identify new ways to bring innovative solutions to Roofstock’s customers.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or distribution roles, with a proven track record of driving growth through successful partnership deals.
- Deep expertise in the real estate and prop-tech industries, with a strong understanding of the key players, trends, and opportunities in these spaces.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and structure partnership agreements that drive revenue and scale growth.
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and capitalize on high-value partnership opportunities.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to balance long-term strategy with short-term goals and objectives.
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to develop and implement product partnerships and integrations.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience managing large-scale projects with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Location
Hybrid - Oakland, CA (greater Oakland Area with an expectation to be in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly)

Compensation
$150,000 - $170,000 annual base salary.
Additionally, this position is eligible for a variable bonus based upon achievement of performance objectives.
Annual total comp target with base and variable bonus may reach $200,000 - $220,000.
Pay Transparency
Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors. Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only a part of our total compensation package.
