Reports to: Head of European Structured Finance
Contract: Permanent
The Structured Finance Group is responsible for structured finance investments which includes mortgages and other granular loan portfolio purchases along with investments in structured finance securities across EMEA. The team provides new ideas for asset sourcing and deployment opportunities across structured finance products, monitors contractual mandates and multi-year origination programmes, reports on our risk metrics and produces detailed management information for risk based decision making. It also manages the day-to-day relationships with various strategic partners.
We are looking for an experienced structured finance analyst who will support the book alongside other necessary desk related functions. This role will suit a person who is entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and who has a desire to work as part of an analytical fast growing investment business. Individuals should be comfortable working independently as well as being part of a fast-growing team where effective communication is vital.
Key activities include:
- Originating, negotiating and executing structured finance investment opportunities with collaboration across departments
- Cashflow modelling given Rothesay does not rely on third party models / software such as Intex
- Manage BAU projects and work with the broader trading / structured finance team
- Trade booking & reconciliation
- Profit and loss activity analysis
- Creation of internal presentations to senior management
- Support funding, cashflow management and cash reconciliation activities for the business on a daily basis
- Assessment and monitoring of our exposures
- Work closely with the Operations, Finance, Risk and Compliance teams
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a relevant structured finance role, either for a bank, buy-side firm or in a firm managing an origination partnership
- Degree educated in a mathematical or finance related subject
- Experience should ideally include mortgages, structured finance and expertise in managing relationships with large retail facing clients
- Strong communicator, ability to communicate on a technical level with internal teams but also be able articulate our investment requirements and thesis to external parties and senior management, in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and stay focused on risk management. Ability to manage own workload and work as part of a team
