 The team:

 The Business Development team’s focus is to secure new business volumes and to build and maintain industry and client relationships. As such, the team has a central role within Rothesay, collaborating closely with all the different teams to help grow the business.

  • This role in the team will be to support and assist deal leads from initial enquiries through to execution. This will also include the production of internal MI and reporting, and assisting in external presentations, marketing collateral, tender responses, and client management.

 Job Responsibilities:

 Liaising with the specialist pension advisers that focus on bulk annuities

  • Compiling our responses to requests for new business quotations and for client presentations
  • Compiling and producing internal MI and reports
  • Maintaining pipeline and transaction database (Salesforce)
  • Liaising with the new business pricing and senior Rothesay management to facilitate decisions on transaction pricing levels
  • Supporting on the execution of transactions and working with the transition team on transaction implementation
  • Development of relationships across the pension industry (professional trustees, actuaries, pension lawyers)
  • Supporting other internal functions, where necessary, on other public communications, for example on Rothesay’s website and/or in relation to other specific matters (e.g. ESG)
  • Proactively identifying and pursuing specific new business opportunities

Skills and experience required:

 Ability to build strong relationships across a network of industry professionals and pensions scheme contacts

  • Ability to listen and to probe to understand opportunities
  • Excellence in production of written proposals and presentations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work effectively and proactively within a dynamic, multi-skilled organization, in particular with the pricing, legal and transition teams
  • Strong organisational skills and the tenacity to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to understand both UK pension liabilities and insurer capital requirements
  • Strong Excel and Salesforce skills
  • Excellence in PowerPoint
