Software Developer (Mid-Senior)

RS21 is seeking a Software Developer with an active or interim Secret security clearance and experience building and integrating large-scale software systems to help us work on challenging and exciting projects within RS21 partner organizations. We are searching for experienced software developers at the mid and senior level so if you meet any of the qualifications listed below, we encourage you to apply.

In this role, you will be working within the team environment of one of our partner organizations as a software developer, performing software design and software implementation of large-scale software solutions that host containerized applications developed with C++. 

In addition to working daily with our partner organization, you will have access to RS21 subject matter experts and technology to enhance the impact and effectiveness of projects. You will also serve as a central point of contact between RS21 and our partner organization. 

This full-time position is located in Aurora, CO with Hybrid work options available.   

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g., automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful, readable code).
  • Responsible for performing design, development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of software platforms and applications
  • Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, while ensuring they meet performance standards for stability and resource utilization
  • Develop software tools to assist in creating new capabilities, to facilitate testing, and increase efficiency of yourself and the team
  • Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
  • Participate in automation activities to establish Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and DevOps
  • Work with multiple disciplines in the creation of technical work products
  • Interpret requirements into software architecture and design
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to build functional, complete, and well-performing technical solutions, with an emphasis of personal responsibility on implementation processes. 

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Active or interim Secret security clearance  
  • Ability to obtain a Sec+ certification within six months of hire  
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM field 
  • 3-5+ years working experience in object-oriented software development using C++ 
  • Containerization experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker 
  • Experience with DevSecOps based development
  • Work related experience with Python or a different interpreted language
  • Software and system-level debugging experience including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary  
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationship with all levels of the organization  
  • Ability to Travel to demo and support command and control systems 

  NICE TO HAVES 

  • Active Sec+ certification 
  • Current or past working experience with Missile Warning / Missile Tracking 
  • Current or past working experience with Space Vehicle Command and Control. 
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Experience with Web based development, including Angular,  
  • Experience and knowledge related to Space Vehicle Operations, Ground Systems and Ground System Operations  
  • Previous experience interfacing with the customer directly
  • Experience and knowledge related to software discipline process development and deployment  
  • Software integration and system-level debugging experience
  • Familiarity with other engineering disciplines (systems, hardware, test, configuration management, and quality engineering) and how they interact with software engineering 

Compensation: $110,000-150,000 annually. A final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience and skillset and the company salary range for either a midlevel or senior software developer position. Relocation assistance is available on a case-by-case basis.
