We are seeking an experienced Analyst to plan, manage, and execute on high impact projects in a rapidly changing professional services environment, ranging from early childhood data analyses/visualization to organizational business intelligence strategy design. Our projects are unique and varied, as is the ideal candidate’s experience and interest. 

This is a rewarding and challenging role that requires a proactive and consultative mindset with exceptional proficiency across a diverse blend of skillsets: technical data concepts and programming, clear communication and strategic thinking, data visualization and storytelling, writing, and ability to easily and comfortably zoom in and out of analyses at a macro-level down to row-level data validation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with data modeling, visualization, and using a variety of analytic approaches to help solve complex problems. 

This position will join our Data Analytics team out of our Albuquerque, NM headquarters. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as a problem-solver and adviser in complex or mission-critical client engagements 
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data from many different domains, to create compelling and intuitive visualizations using and/or representing complex and diverse datasets 
  • Develop, modify, and apply computer modeling and programming applications to analyze and solve mathematical and scientific problems across a variety of subject areas 
  • Integrate and harmonize disparate sources of data to create novel datasets that can be used to develop new insights and solutions 
  • Develop static and interactive data visualizations using COTS dashboarding tools, particularly Microsoft PowerBI 
  • Conduct day-to-day ad hoc analyses as needed for our clients 
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support new domain spaces and technologies 
  • Ideate, develop and document new processes  for ad-hoc data extracts and analysis; develop and maintain reports; identify issues including defects in logic or data quality; capture business requirements including data definitions 
  • Interface with executive leadership, subject matter experts, end users, technology vendors and various stakeholders to ensure cross-functional buy-in 
  • Work collaboratively with external clients to assess drivers of quality, engagement, and utilization

Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role  
  • BA/BS Degree preferred in a quantitative discipline 
  • Proficiency with modern approaches in data analytics (e.g., statistics, machine learning, econometrics)  
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools, including Microsoft PowerBI and/or Tableau 
  • Solid expertise using statistical programming languages such as Python or R, data visualizations tools (Tableau and/or PowerBI), querying language (e.g., SQL) 
  • Ability to learn and engage effectively with new (an often proprietary) technologies to explore and extract data, identify the data story from existing data plus the data gaps, and use this to propose strategic recommendations to clients’ senior leadership 
  • Comfortable leading internal discussions and external client meetings, with a focus on summarizing and effectively communicating complex data findings to a wider audience  
  • Ability to contribute to client-facing dialogue and help stakeholders understand data output while facilitating the development of analytical reporting solutions to meet sometimes vague business needs 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills  

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with multiple business intelligence tools and data mining technologies 
  • Proficiency with SQL and/or SQL-based scripting languages 
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS/ESRI products 
  • Experience with understanding business context for analytics to help address performance issues, be able to identify and speak to drivers that impact business performance 
  • Ability to create visually compelling and user-centered presentations or interfaces 
  • Versed in a variety of technology stacks (Confluence, Jira, Trello, Google, AWS, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, open source, etc.)

$85,000 - $110,000 USD
