Intern: Security Operations (Summer 2026)

Rockstar NYC is on the lookout for students who are committed to keeping our games and services fun for our players. This is a paid, fixed term contract position running for 10 weeks from June 2026 to mid-August 2026, with the expectation of a 40-hour work week. The successful candidate will work in Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan.
WHAT WE DO
- The Rockstar Security team is responsible for advancing the state of information security across the company globally by prioritizing and executing security initiatives that drive down risk.
- We strive to understand the threat landscape affecting our development studios, the gaming industry, and the world at large.
- We lead efforts to build enterprise security controls ranging from endpoint protection technologies to security incident and event monitoring solutions.
- We have a passion for identifying threats and coming up with clever solutions to mitigate those risks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and maintain open-source intelligence data.
- External attack surface enumeration, monitoring, and assessment.
- Assist with investigation and data analytics automation.
- Achieve well-scoped goals based on guidance and support from Leads and team members.
REQUIREMENTS
- This internship is intended for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates who have experience in at least one of the following areas: general cybersecurity, offensive security, penetration testing, cloud security, digital forensics, incident response, or threat/open-source intelligence.
- Exposure to any programming and scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, Bash.
- Ability to conduct research.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.

The pay range for this position in New York State (inclusive of New York City) at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per hour. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the company reserves the right to modify base rates of pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
