Intern: Security Engineering Automation (Summer 2026)

Rockstar Games is on the lookout for an intern who possesses a passion for securing the Rockstar environment, specifically focusing on vulnerability management. This is a paid, fixed term contract position running for 10 weeks from June 2026 to mid-August 2026, with the expectation of a 40-hour work week at the NYC headquarters in downtown Manhattan.

WHAT WE DO

  • The Rockstar Security team is responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Rockstar’s sensitive intellectual property and data.
  • We foster a security culture across all teams and disciplines at Rockstar, providing policy, standards, guidance, and awareness training to everyone.
  • We work closely with departments across the company to understand their workflows and help ensure they are following best security practices.
  • We work with technology stakeholders to assess our posture, build controls, and mitigate security risks.
  • Our team focuses on strategic security measures that ensure we reduce risk across the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage in project-based learning based on guidance and support from team members.
  • Assist the vulnerability management team to understand, develop, test, and validate specific security use cases.
  • Perform prompt engineering to produce a repeatable set of outputs that meet designated requirements.
  • Develop programmatic methods to assist in the operationalization of prompts.
  • Document procedures, outcomes, and limitations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • This internship is intended for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates who have completed coursework in software engineering, cybersecurity, or related field.  
  • Intermediate to strong programming skills (i.e., Python).
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities, including the ability to apply technically oriented concepts.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.

The pay range for this position in New York State (inclusive of New York City) at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per hour. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the company reserves the right to modify base rates of pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

$34 - $34 USD
