About RTW Foundation (RTWF)

RTW Foundation (RTWF) was founded in 2018 as the philanthropic arm of RTW Investments, LP a biotech investment firm. RTWF has two major focuses: improving health equity in New York City and advancing ultra-rare disease research. Our overarching goal is to improve the health of underserved communities, whether that be from historically underinvested communities in New York City (including communities of color and migrant populations) to patients and families facing ultra-rare diseases.

 

Program Overview

We are seeking highly motivated individuals for an internship starting in June. This unique opportunity is designed for those with a keen interest in the intersection of drug development, biotech innovation, and public policy.

The intern will contribute to thought leadership initiatives by evaluating key aspects of the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, helping to inform policy perspectives, developing white papers, or creating engaging explainer videos to foster a deeper understanding of the biotech development and investment landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on topics related to drug development, biotech policy, and the economic impact of innovative medicines.
• Analyze case studies or data to quantify the health and economic benefits of innovative therapies.
• Collaborate with team members to draft white papers, policy briefs, rapid-response content, or explainer video scripts.
• Present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and summarize current trends and developments in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries and the legislative or regulatory landscapes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Graduate students or recent graduates in fields such as life sciences, public policy, health economics, business, or related disciplines.
• Strong interest in biotechnology, drug development, and public health policy.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to distill complex scientific or policy information into clear and compelling narratives.
• Experience with writing or content creation (e.g., articles, reports, videos) is a plus.

This is a full-time paid 9-week internship based in NYC.

In accordance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, the weekly salary range for this position will be $1400 - $1800.
