Role Overview
The Vice President will work closely with the New Ventures team at RTW to incubate companies, launch new companies, drive initial portfolio development, establish partnerships, and lead operations within companies conceived, created, and backed by RTW.
This role will support high-priority, high-impact projects. In partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, this individual will drive company launch, operations across R&D, corporate & regulatory strategy, and financing activities. The successful candidate will have scientific acumen, experienced with the processes of preclinical and clinical development, be deeply collaborative, an outstanding communicator, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
This position is full-time and reports to the Managing Director, Head of Corporate Development
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Lead the operational rhythm of the NewCo:
- Support company creation operations
- Ensuring meetings, workflows, and deliverables run well and timelines are met
- Prepare agendas, track and drive follow-up actions to completion,
- Coordinate across workstreams to keep priorities on track.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to shape, translate, and execute NewCo’s corporate strategy
Stakeholder Communication
- Develop and deliver executive-level PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate strategic insights, corporate initiatives, and market analyses/intelligence
- Create high-quality visual materials for leadership, Board of Directors, and investor discussions & communications
- Support and coach NewCo leadership teams
Portfolio/NewCo Management
- Lead portfolio-level planning and milestone tracking
- In partnership with finance, own budgeting and financial planning
- Drive monthly reviews with RTW New Ventures teams. Develop and execute process to manage NewCo success from formation to post-launch
Cross-functional Partnership
- Support all aspects of company business operations
- Collaborate with RTW teams in finance, facilities, IT, HR, and legal
- Collaborate with NewCo R&D, Regulatory, Finance, Commercial, and Operations to ensure operational excellence and holistic strategy development
- Serve as a strategic partner to support the NewCo leadership execute for success
- Lead or contribute to special initiatives, as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- 5-10 years of professional experience in biotech or pharma, management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, business development, and/or corporate strategy in a therapeutics company
- Prior experience contributing to new company formation is highly preferred
- Proven ability to create visually appealing, high-impact presentations for multiple audiences
- Tenure-appropriate understanding of the drug development lifecycle and biopharma operating model. Experience with forecasting and valuation a plus
- Exceptional written communication and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Intellectually curious, sharp business acumen, superior analytic ability
- Results-driven, high-performer with a strong collaborative style; ability to influence and build consensus across all levels of the organization

In accordance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for the VP role is $150,000 - $200,000 depending on experience, skill level, and the scope of responsibilities assigned. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits and may vary based on factors such as the candidate's qualifications and the level at which the role is hired. In addition to base salary, this role offers a competitive bonus structure and comprehensive benefits.
