Job Summary:
Ruggable is seeking an accomplished and strategic VP, Corporate Controller to own and scale its global accounting function. This role will play a critical part in evolving the accounting organization, processes, and systems to support the company’s next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role owns end-to-end global controllership operations, including financial close, external reporting, technical accounting, and cash and treasury operations. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, experience in international and high-growth environments, and a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead global accounting operations and own the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local accounting standards.
- Own and continuously improve the monthly close process, driving increased speed, accuracy, and scalability.
- Own accounting for inventory and cost of goods sold, including standard costing, reserves, and cross-functional alignment with Operations.
- Lead technical accounting assessments and author accounting memos for complex transactions and new business initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across the organization.
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance a strong internal control environment, including SOX readiness as the company scales.
- Serve as the primary owner of annual financial statement and statutory audits.
- Own quarterly lender reporting and covenant compliance, including financial schedules and certifications.
- Own the company’s day-to-day cash operations, liquidity visibility, and payment processes, driving working capital efficiency .
- Own short-term cash flow forecasting, ensuring visibility into operating cash needs.
- Administer banking infrastructure, including account management and signatories.
- Partner with the CFO on broader treasury strategy, including financing and banking relationships, while owning execution of day-to-day cash operations.
- Act as the accounting owner of NetSuite, including multi-entity consolidations, chart of accounts, and ongoing system optimization and scalability.
- Lead cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective operational execution.
- Identify, implement, and scale workflow improvements, automation, and systems to support growth, increase leverage, and accelerate the close.
- Build, sustain, and lead a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, trust, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles at the Director level and above
- CPA required; Big 4 experience preferred
- Deep expertise in US GAAP and international accounting requirements
- Experience leading accounting functions in global, multi-entity organizations
- Proven track record of scaling accounting teams, processes, and systems in high-growth environments
- Experience managing cash and treasury operations, including ownership of 13-week cash flow forecasting
- Strong NetSuite experience in a multi-subsidiary environment
- Experience in e-commerce and/or consumer products, including inventory and manufacturing accounting
- Demonstrated success accelerating the close and improving accounting processes and controls
- Experience in a PE-backed, startup, or pre-IPO environment
Compensation:
- $250,000 - $275,000 per year base salary, dependent on experience
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
