Job Summary:
Ruggable's Product Strategy & NPI function has built a strong operational foundation — and this role exists to take it the rest of the way. The Product Operations Consultant will work directly with the Director of Product Strategy & NPI to mature and formalize our NPI process documentation, close the gaps that exist between current state and a production-ready process, and translate that work into structured logic that powers an Airtable-based workflow tool. This is a 90-day engagement for a program manager who is energized by bringing rigor to ambiguity, comfortable pushing back when something isn't defined clearly enough to build against, and capable of moving quickly without sacrificing precision.
What You’ll Do:
NPI Process Formalization
- Work with the Director of Product Strategy & NPI to take existing process documentation to a production-ready state — adding detail, building consistency, and closing gaps across both MTO and non-printed finished good pipelines
- Facilitate working sessions with the NPI, Sourcing, Quality, and Product Development teams to validate process logic, surface edge cases, and pressure-test documentation against real launch scenarios
- Flag decisions that require Director or cross-functional sign-off rather than resolving them unilaterally; maintain a clear log of open items and owners throughout
Tool Readiness & Build
- Translate finalized process documentation into structured, tool-ready logic for the Airtable build; serve as the process SME in configuration sessions to ensure the build reflects operational reality
- Identify and resolve process ambiguities before they become tool build problems; own the handoff between process definition and technical configuration
- Support user acceptance testing and adoption readiness ahead of tool launch within the contract window
Program Coordination
- Maintain a clear view of workstream status, open decisions, and sequencing dependencies; surface risks to the Director proactively before they affect the build timeline
- Own meeting facilitation and decision documentation across internal stakeholders throughout the engagement
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- 5+ years of program or project management experience, with direct experience formalizing or documenting operational processes in a cross-functional environment
- Demonstrated ability to take in-progress, incomplete process documentation and bring it to a clean, structured, actionable state
- Experience supporting workflow tool configuration (Airtable, Asana, Monday, or similar) from the process side — not as a technical builder, but as the person who defines what gets built
- Hard deadline delivery — you've run a time-boxed engagement before and know how to hold a timeline
- Comfortable in a build-in-progress environment; you add structure without waiting for it to be handed to you
- Based in or able to commute to Los Angeles for the duration of the contract
Preferred:
- Experience in consumer goods, DTC, or home — familiarity with how product development and NPI processes work in practice
- Prior exposure to stage gate or milestone-based development processes
- Background working embedded within a product, operations, or PMO function rather than as an external consultant
Contract Details:
- $65 - $75/hr
