Junior Staff Accountant
Runwise is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to join one of the largest and fastest-growing prop-tech companies in the US. Based in New York, this position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

As a Junior Staff Accountant at Runwise, you’ll join a high-performing and growing finance and accounting team, and be directly responsible for the execution and improvement of our Accounts Receivable processes. We’re seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized professional with a knack for problem-solving and a flair for crafting innovative solutions. You’ll work closely with our Senior Revenue Accountant to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial record keeping and collaborate cross-functionally with our partners in Sales, Operations, Onboarding, and Customer Success to execute and improve various processes and initiatives.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Accounts Receivable and Invoicing
- Prepare and issue customer invoices in accordance with contractual terms, ensuring accuracy of all outgoing invoices and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor incoming payments and accurately record transactions within the accounting system, including posting and reconciling payments across multiple channels, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Investigate and resolve customer invoicing inquiries and disputes in a timely manner. Employ strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure positive customer experiences.
- Rebate Invoicing Management
- Track the post-installation rebate lifecycle, including maintaining detailed installation records for all approved and completed rebate projects.
- Own and execute the rebate invoicing and payment processesIncluding accurately applying rebate payments and maintaining current, reconciled rebate aging schedules.
- Monthly Close Responsibilities
- Support the accounting team in executing month-end close activities, including but not limited to:
- Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations
- Assisting with Accounts Receivable and Revenue Recognition
- Ensuring that all monthly service calls completed are invoiced
- Identify AR-related process and system inefficiencies and develop new systems and processes to address issues and improve team performance.
- Assist in the execution of various other accounting operations including credit card expense management, employee expense reimbursement, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
- 1+ years of hands-on accounting and accounts payable experience
- Direct experience within a software business strongly preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software and robust ERP systems
- Direct experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred
- 1+ year of public accounting experience preferred
- Strong fundamental understanding of GAAP
- Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful
- Willingness to dig in, investigate issues, and experiment with creative solutions
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000, based on experience
