Outside Sales Development Representative

Runwise is looking for a Field Sales Representative who is highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and passionate about the impact that smart building controls can have for the people who run the day to day operations of buildings.

Runwise (www.runwise.com) is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup that controls and runs the key energy systems (heating, water, etc…) in 7500+ buildings throughout the US. Runwise’s unique hardware and software service significantly reduces energy usage, substantially lowering costs and carbon output. As of today, Runwise’s technology takes the equivalent of 100,000 cars worth of carbon emissions off the road each year. Runwise is headquartered in New York City with established markets in Chicago, Boston, and Washington D.C.

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Field Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team and be our “boots on the ground.” In this role, you will call on both commercial and residential properties, talk to them about how they currently control their building systems today, and open up sales opportunities off of your in field conversations. You will need to learn industry dynamics, organization structures, and the motivation of each buyer persona. 

The ideal candidate is someone who is goal-oriented, thinks outside the box, excellent interpersonal skills and resilience. Success in this position comes from those with a strong ability to build trust with customers via face-to-face, phone, and written communication. The ideal candidate can think a few steps ahead and can connect dots between accounts, contacts and locations to act relationally. The ideal candidate can switch between calls, strategy and administrative work in an efficient manner.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Visiting assigned territories and neighborhoods to engage with potential building personnel
  • Customer Outreach & Relationship Building
  • Market Research & Territory Analysis
  • Collaboration with Sales Teams
  • Pipeline & CRM Management
  • Present and demonstrate products or services effectively and confidently
  • Achieving Sales Targets
  • Conduct presale building inspections
  • Networking & Event Participation
  • Report on field activity and customer feedback

You Have:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, and/or lead generation (face-to-face sales preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and mobile sales tools is preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship skills
  • Energetic and outgoing personality
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment
  • Willingness to travel and navigate through New York City and surrounding areas
  • A growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and resilient in the face of challenges
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and contribute to team goals

Salary Range OTE: $80,000-$100,000 based on experience

Fluency in Albanian is a significant plus. Spanish and Polish language skills are also highly valued.

Prior door-to-door sales experience is a strong advantage.
