Senior IT Engineer, Atlassian

The Atlassian Administrator will oversee the full lifecycle administration, optimization, and strategic utilization of the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) to support project management, software development, and enterprise collaboration across the organization. This role will drive process automation, enhance team workflows, and ensure optimal performance of Atlassian platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge, hands-on configuration experience, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement. Atlassian certification is highly desirable.

This role is open to candidates located in Estonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Latvia, Malta, Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal, Czech Republic, or Greece.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as an administrator for all Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and associated plugins.
  • Design, configure, and manage Jira projects, workflows, fields, permissions, issue types, and automations in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Lead and support automation initiatives within the Atlassian ecosystem to streamline business processes, reduce manual effort, and improve consistency.
  • Plan, execute, and manage platform migrations, version upgrades, and integrations with third-party systems and internal tools.
  • Maintain system integrity, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data consistency across the Atlassian platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, and IT teams to tailor solutions aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Provide end-user training, create documentation, and promote best practices for effective use of Atlassian tools.
  • Evaluate and recommend Atlassian Marketplace apps to extend capabilities and meet emerging requirements.
  • Occasional domestic or international travel may be required

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Atlassian administration and automation in enterprise environments.
  • Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-120 Jira Admin, ACP-100 Jira Project Admin) required.
  • Strong expertise in administering Jira (Software and Service Management), Confluence, and other Atlassian products.
  • Proven experience in designing scalable Jira workflows, permission schemes, dashboards, filters, and project templates.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, or similar tools.
  • Experience integrating Atlassian tools with identity and access management, HRIS, Communication systems.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, JQL, and automation scripting for Atlassian tools.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, service management concepts, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. #LI-REMOTE
