At Rush Street Interactive (RSI), Product Management - Technology (PM-T) plays a critical role in shaping the technology that powers our gaming and betting platforms. PM-Ts bridge the gap between business strategy, engineering execution, and player experience, ensuring that every feature, platform service, and integration is built for scalability, compliance, and performance. A PM-T at RSI combines deep technical fluency with strong product intuition driving initiatives that make our platforms faster, more reliable, and more intelligent, while enabling innovation in how players engage, transact, and enjoy our products.

What You'll Do:

Platform & Infrastructure Strategy

  • Define and maintain the technical roadmap for RSI’s core systems—covering betting engines, gaming APIs, payment integrations, and data platforms.
  • Drive architectural initiatives such as service decoupling, API modernization, cloud scalability, and data pipeline evolution to support global growth.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to ensure technical investments align with long-term business goals and regulatory requirements.

Technical Requirements & Execution

  • Translate product or regulatory needs into clear technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA to design, implement, and release platform-level capabilities (e.g., real-time odds feeds, bonus engines, risk management tools).
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex cross-team initiatives, managing dependencies, testing, and rollout.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, compliance, analytics, and data science to ensure that technical solutions meet security, reliability, and observability standards.
  • Partner with commercial and product teams to translate business priorities into scalable technology features.
  • Act as the technical liaison for external vendors, content providers, and third-party integrations (e.g., sportsbook APIs, payment gateways, KYC providers).

Data & Performance Focus

  • Define KPIs to measure platform performance (latency, uptime, API error rate, etc.) and track improvements over time.
  • Support initiatives in data engineering and analytics—ensuring pipelines are reliable, timely, and accessible to downstream teams.
  • Enable real-time insights and decisioning by improving data infrastructure and event streaming capabilities.

Core Skills and Attributes

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of software systems, APIs, microservices, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Product Strategy: Ability to connect platform enhancements to player engagement, operational efficiency, and regulatory success.
  • Execution Excellence: Skilled at backlog prioritization, dependency management, and cross-team coordination.
  • Analytical Thinking: Uses data and metrics to guide decision-making and validate impact.
  • Communication: Fluent in both technical and business language; able to align diverse stakeholders across functions.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years in software engineering or platform development, with at least 3+ years in technical leadership roles overseeing cross-functional or distributed teams.
  • Proven experience scaling high-availability, high-traffic systems, ideally in gaming, fintech, or other regulated digital environments.
  • Experience leading vendor integrations or managing external technology partnerships (e.g., sportsbook APIs, payments, KYC, or content providers).
  • Demonstrated ability to align engineering strategy with business priorities, balancing innovation, technical debt, and operational stability.
  • Track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering or platform teams.
  • Able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally 25% annual travel (i.e. training, team summits, etc.) #LI-REMOTE #LI-PROMOTE
This role spans a wide breadth of experience at Rush Street Interactive, welcoming candidates with diverse experiences, backgrounds, and locations. The pay range reflects potential variations in experience, skills, and location. The pay range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base pay, benefits, and/or bonuses. For candidates outside the US (Canada, Europe, Latin America), we take a locally informed approach to compensation and will share specific ranges based on your country of residence.

Location Eligibility (for nationwide roles): Open to candidates across the U.S. (except California, Washington, Maryland, and New York).

Pay Range

$180,000 - $250,000 USD
