The Landscape Architect is the natural progression from Senior Designer upon obtaining licensure. The Landscape Architect assists leadership in all aspects of project design, development, and documentation activities through all phases of a project. The Landscape Architect prepares, coordinates, and assembles project documents as directed by project leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Utilize AutoCAD and related software to complete assignments on time and within prescribed standards as outline in the RVi Quality Assurance Quality Control manual.
Design Responsibilities
- Complete understanding and implementation of the Standard design process
- Ability to Design, Prepare, Sign and Seal Record Drawings independently
- Implementation of Health, Safety, and Welfare responsibilities of the profession.
Provide additional support
- Drafting Documents and computations including Opinions of probable costs
- Demonstrate ownership of design and plan sets regardless of originator
- Coordination and relationship development with project subconsultants and clients
- Assist in preparation of construction related services
- Assist in agreement preparation
Complete site visits as required. Perform site walks including project closeouts and procedures
Communicate with Project Manager on workload status, schedules and tasks in order to meet designated chargeability goals.
Ensure Product Quality
- Follow RVi QA QC Manual, protocols, and established standards.
- Able to review projects for compliance with national, state, and local landscape architectural standards
An advanced understanding of the following technical skills that pertain to your region:
- AutoCAD and AdobeCS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
- Revit and/or Lumion
- MS Office
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture preferred, degrees in undergraduate related fields accepted with completion of an accredited Master’s program and/or minimum required equivalent experience working under a licensed landscape architect.
- Holds licensure and pursues continuing education opportunities in alignment with professional licensure requirements, personal interests, and RVi’s Training schedule.
EXPERIENCE
- Approximately four plus (4+) years of experience in the field or the necessary practical experience required to pass the LARE. Senior Landscape Architect will demonstrate independence in practice and business development skills and support.
- The ability to apply fundamental design concepts to practical situations utilizing your background and/or equivalent experience.
