About The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Competitive Intelligence with a strong background in healthcare and pharmacy benefit management to join our team.

The Competitive Intelligence Director will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data related to competitors, market trends, and customer feedback. Additionally, it will involve monitoring industry developments, assessing competitive positioning, collecting product and sales team feedback, and providing insights, reports and analyses to inform strategic decision-making.

This role will report to the EVP of Marketing and Partnership Solutions and requires a strategic yet hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will be self-directed and able to interface effectively with multiple teams and functions (Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.) and individuals at various levels (from Coordinator to CEO). The Director will play a key role in ensuring that our materials, content and RFI/RFP responses are aligned with the company’s broader sales, marketing and product goals and reflective of our evolving brand and positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competitive Analysis:
    • Conduct comprehensive research on competitors in the healthcare, pharmacy and PBM space, including their products, services, pricing strategies, market positioning, and business practices
    • Analyze competitors' strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis) with a focus on the healthcare, pharmacy and PBM landscape
    • Develop and maintain a competitive intelligence database specific to the healthcare, pharmacy and PBM sectors and generate regular reports and communications on competitive activities
  • Market Research:
    • Track and analyze market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies relevant to healthcare, pharmacy and PBM
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation
    • Identify market opportunities and threats within the healthcare, pharmacy and PBM sectors that could impact the company’s strategic objectives
    • Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus groups to gather relevant internal and external feedback
  • Product Feedback:
    • Collect and analyze feedback on existing healthcare, pharmacy and PBM products and services
    • Identify trends and recurring issues in product performance and customer satisfaction within the industry
    • Provide actionable recommendations and supporting analyses for new product developments and enhancements to existing products based on feedback and competitive analysis
  • Sales Team Feedback:
    • Gather insights and feedback from the sales team regarding customer needs, priorities, and competitive challenges in the healthcare, pharmacy and PBM sectors
    • Collaborate with the sales team to understand market demands and refine sales strategies specific to healthcare, pharmacy and PBM
    • Analyze sales performance data to identify patterns and areas for improvement in the context of our industry
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Compile and interpret data from various sources to provide actionable insights and recommendations specific to the healthcare, pharmacy and PBM sectors
    • Prepare and present detailed reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management, product steering committee and other stakeholders
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies based on market, product, and sales team feedback and performance
  • Strategic Support:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, sales, etc. to align competitive intelligence and feedback with business strategies in the healthcare, pharmacy and PBM space
    • Assist in the development of Product Roadmaps and strategic initiatives based on competitive, market, product, and sales data
  • Trend Monitoring:
    • Stay up-to-date with industry news, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting healthcare, pharmacy and PBM
    • Provide insights into how emerging trends and changes may affect the company, and/our clients, partners, competitors and patients/consumers
  • Marketing Analysis:
    • Monitor competitor marketing (online, direct mail, conferences, etc.) and determine effectiveness
    • Provide feedback and recommendations to Marketing regarding competitor marketing landscape, differentiation, and value stories

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 3 plus years of Experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or a related field, with a focus on healthcare, pharmacy and PB.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range: 130,000 - 150,000
