About the Role
In this role at R-Zero, you will play a key leadership role across three primary areas at R-Zero:
- Contract Manufacturing (CM)
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Quality within Manufacturing
This is a high impact position that will allow you to leverage your problem solving, project management, leadership and technical skills in a dynamic and diverse production environment.
Role Responsibilities
Participate in R-Zero’s manufacturing and production management operation within the company:
- Monitor PO progress, communicating delays, developing solutions with CM’s
- Responsible for the timely development and implementation of manufacturing and quality assurance processes that will ensure product availability and quality
- Identify and implement improvements in the supply chain to reduce BOM and landed cost of all product
- Own NPI in manufacturing: knowledge of transitioning prototypes to manufacturing
- Identify alternative manufacturing partners for existing and NPI devices to optimize cost savings, product requirements and quality manufacturing
- Onboard new manufacturing partners ensuring implementation of manufacturing and quality standards in alignment with manufacturing agreements.
Work cross functionally with Hardware Engineering and CM partners to improve manufacturing process efficiency, quality and costs
- Develop effective and timely solutions to technical problems in manufacturing and the supply chain
- Monitor manufacturing organization success/failure with a focus on data, and resultant corrective action plans in support of QMS
- Implement a continuous improvement program to improve production processes and report on progress quarterly
Participate in Quality Management System implementation
- Represent Supply Chain during system requirements, testing and implementation phase
- Author SOP’s related to Manufacturing which will be included in the QMS, update when manufacturing processes change
- Lead quality improvement projects in conjunction with QMS roll out
- Participate in CAPAs related to manufacturing: investigation, process improvement, measurement of success
Partner with Hardware Engineering to manage our PLM tool data
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing or related field). Masters preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of operations or manufacturing engineering experience (manufacturing electronics or computer devices desirable)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a production organization
- Strong project management experience with demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities; make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a globally distributed team environment
- High-level analytical acumen and fact-based problem solving with demonstrated ability to develop and drive creative, game-changing strategies
- Demonstrate professional presence in all meetings relating to Operations to various levels of the organization (internal and external) including the Executive Leadership Team. Communication style adapts to the level of the organization present
- Bias toward action; initiative and autonomy in making decisions
- Prior experience operating a PLM system (in particular, Arena)
Compensation Information
The salary range for this position will vary based on candidate level, experience, and location. The base salary for this position contemplates a range of $48 - $75 per hour. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and a background check is required upon employment.

Working Environment For employees in the San Francisco Bay Area: Work is at the Company’s work location in San Francisco, in an office setting and is performed during the Company’s core business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The noise level in the office is usually moderate. You will be required to bring your R-Zero provided lap top and sit at the provided office workstations. Sitting for prolonged periods of time is required as are the additional physical requirements listed below.
