Safety Technician, CO
Denver, Colorado
Seeking a local entry-level Safety Technician to assist the regional in supervising various sites in the Denver, CO area. This is a 1099 temporary position and will not offer benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees
- Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Regional Safety Manager
- Conduct site inspections of project work areas and equipment on various work sites in the area
- Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors
- Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met
- Develop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standards
- Assist the investigation of accidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective /preventive measures
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Qualifications:
- 1+ years' experience as a safety professional
- Local to the Denver, CO area
- Valid Driver's license
Preferred:
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Trained
- Safety Trained Supervisor-Construction (STS-C) Certified, through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA Construction Standards, DOT Safety Standards, MUTCD standards, and other state and federal agency guidelines
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and make independent judgments concerning the general safety of workers
- Team player with a professional image, capable of handling highly confidential information
- Exercise excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment that may require long hours, including nights & weekends
