We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Safety Worxs team in the Austin Metro Area. This role will provide expert guidance on the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems. The SME will support compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards while optimizing efficiency and safety. With a strong understanding of power distribution, grounding, and system integration, for a 1–2-year project. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical infrastructure capital plan, focusing on safety and obsolescence risk reduction.
  • Analyze and optimize power distribution to support industrial production processes.
  • Oversee major electrical projects from design through startup.
  • Develop and maintain electrical design standards and specifications.
  • Ensure accuracy and upkeep of one-line diagrams, arc flash studies, and site electrical drawings.
  • Provide crisis management support and technical expertise as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Low & Medium Voltage power distribution, electrical protection, UPS, and battery systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, ANSI, and power system design compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with SKM Power Tools or equivalent modeling software.
  • Ability to conduct load calculations, arc flash analysis, short circuit studies, and selective coordination.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in capital project planning and execution.

Preferred:

  • A Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) is preferred.
  • A Master Electrician is not required but is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical design, power distribution, and exposure to controls integration is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple disciplines as a project manager and supervise others as a lead engineer.
  • Proven expertise in maintenance, operations, and process optimization.
  • Local to the Austin Area preferred.
