Safety Director, TX

Safety Worxs is seeking a results-driven Safety Director to lead our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) strategy across a semiconductor project in NE Austin. This senior leadership role requires a visionary with the ability to drive cultural transformation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance through a hands-on, field-focused approach.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and manage a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with client expectations, regulatory standards, and operational priorities.
- Provide leadership and vision for safety culture transformation.
- Influence and coach project leadership to elevate ownership of safety performance and integrate it into daily decision-making.
- Lead site wide risk management practices, ensuring strategic mitigation and consistent application across the sites.
- Champion a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee and guide incident investigations, ensuring systemic issues are addressed.
- Translate complex regulatory and client requirements into practical, scalable solutions for field operations.
- Leverage data and insights to identify trends, drive performance, and inform strategic priorities.
- Shape and lead safety communications, training initiatives, and leadership development in alignment with business goals.
- Serve as the senior safety representative in all high-level client and regulatory engagements.
Qualifications:
- BCSP certification or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field required.
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in safety within heavy civil or industrial construction environments required.
- Proven track record of driving cultural change and influencing at the executive and operational levels.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, regulatory frameworks, and advanced risk management principles.
- Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, providing clarity and direction in a high-stakes environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage safety performance across large, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.
