Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced Technical Lifting Authority (TLA) to support a long-term, high-profile project based out of Dallas, TX, with frequent travel to project sites nationwide. This role is critical to ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient lifting operations across complex construction and industrial environments. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in lifting and rigging with the authority, experience, and confidence to lead, review, and approve critical lift activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Technical Lifting Authority for all lifting and rigging activities across assigned projects.
  • Review, approve, and provide technical oversight for critical, engineered, and complex lift plans.
  • Ensure lifting operations comply with applicable standards (OSHA, ASME, ANSI, client-specific requirements).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to lifting supervisors, riggers, crane operators, and project teams.
  • Conduct field audits and inspections of cranes, lifting equipment, and rigging gear.
  • Participate in pre-lift meetings, constructability reviews, and safety planning sessions.
  • Support incident investigations related to lifting operations and develop corrective/preventive actions.
  • Partner with project leadership, safety teams, and contractors to promote best-in-class lifting practices.
  • Travel regularly to active job sites to provide on-site oversight, coaching, and compliance verification.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in lifting & rigging operations within construction, industrial, or heavy civil environments.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving critical lift plans and engineered lifts.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • OSHA regulations
    • ASME B30 series
    • ANSI standards
    • Crane and rigging best practices
  • Proven ability to serve as an authority figure with credibility across field and leadership teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and client interaction.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50–75% as required by project needs.

Preferred:

  • NCCCO or equivalent crane-related certifications
  • Engineering background or formal lift engineering experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale, long-term projects (data centers, semiconductor, industrial, or infrastructure)
  • Prior experience acting as a company or project Lifting Authority
