Position overview:

We are currently looking for an outstanding individual to join our fast-paced and rapidly growing finance organization as Senior Corporate Accountant reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, Sagard North America. This person will play a pivotal role in helping us scale our platform and provide extraordinary investor and management services across our global ecosystem. 

Your Responsibilities:

To maintain and review daily, monthly, and quarterly transactional details and communicate these details to the Manager, Corporate Accounting:

  • Prepare month-end bank reconciliations
  • Review AP batches and ensure accurate invoice coding to proper GL accounts and assigned to proper cost center
  • Review and record expense reports
  • Prepare/review intercompany balances reconciliations
  • Prepare month-end close journal entries, including lease accounting and FX revaluation entries
  • Collaborate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Prepare/review GST/HST/QST filings
  • Prepare/support annual financial statements and respond to requests from external auditors and tax preparers
  • Maintain organized records of transactions
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis

Experience & Qualifications:

  • University degree and recognized accounting designation.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in corporate accounting (asset manager industry a plus).
  • Experience with Sage or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data manipulation skills.
