Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptional and experienced Senior Manager to join our dynamic Finance team and play a critical role in overseeing the fund accounting operations for various venture capital funds. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, manage complex fund structures, and collaborate with stakeholders across our global ecosystem. Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Develop: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Manage complex fund structures: Oversee the accounting and reporting for complex fund structures in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards (IFRS).
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investment teams, legal, tax advisors, and fund administrators.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ensure the accuracy of quarterly financial statements and investor reporting for various entities, including closed-end funds, master-feeders, and special purpose vehicles.
  • Capital Activity Management: Manage the fund's capital activity process, including capital calls, distributions, rebalances, transfers, and carried interest calculations.
  • Investor Relations: Collaborate closely with the investor relations team to prepare quarterly client reports, respond to investor inquiries, and contribute to marketing materials.
  • Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate and manage year-end audits and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including FATCA/CRS and SLFI reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Assist with the design and implementation of robust processes and controls to enhance efficiency and ensure adherence to the firm's compliance program.
  • Special Projects: Participate in and/or lead special projects, such as launching new funds or implementing new technologies.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant managerial, fund accounting, and administration experience, preferably with closed-ended funds.
  • Experience in an asset management firm with exposure to audit, tax accounting, FATCA/CRS reporting, and level 3 valuation of investments is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CA/CPA designation with a specialization in IFRS is an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
