Head of Content
Head of Content
Sage is on a mission to improve care and quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults over 65. And yet, fall prevention and emergency response systems for older adults are archaic and ineffective. At Sage we've built a more modern way of understanding when older adults need help, including methods for residents to alert caregivers when in need of help, and corresponding software for caregivers to triage response. Our company mission is to create a product that our client counterparts love, and this role is a key part of that objective.
Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs. We are a software-enabled, mission-driven company, and are focused only on the problems that are central to achieving that mission. At Sage, we work hard and fast but also know that to build a truly important company, we need to treat our work as a marathon, and not a sprint. The journey matters.
About this Role
We’re looking for a strategic and creative Head of Content to lead and execute compelling, narrative-driven content that drives brand awareness, educates our audiences, and fuels growth. You’ll bring strong editorial instincts, a keen understanding of multi-channel storytelling, and the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging, and high-impact content. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments and loves turning insight into influence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our overarching content strategy across audiences and formats (web, email, blog, social, long-form, and more).
- Own content calendars and campaign planning in collaboration with marketing, product, and comms teams.
- Create and manage high-quality editorial content—from thought leadership to case studies, newsletters to landing pages.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align content with business goals, voice, and positioning.
- Use insights and data to optimize content performance and inform future initiatives.
- Manage freelance writers, designers, or creative partners as needed.
- Uphold and evolve brand voice and messaging across all content touchpoints.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in content strategy, brand storytelling, or editorial leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to craft thoughtful, strategic content across digital channels.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio that shows both creativity and clarity.
- Experience working in fast-growing, cross-functional teams—particularly in mission-driven or healthcare-related companies.
- Comfort working in ambiguity, rolling up your sleeves, and managing content end-to-end.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in brand development or content design, or experience in virtual healthcare, wellness, or adjacent sectors.
