Overview:  

We are looking for a Senior Functional QA Analyst with deep understanding of the mortgage servicing domain, ideally with experience on LoanServ or similar platforms. This is a semi-managerial position for someone who can work independently, contribute domain expertise, and drive quality across complex servicing functionalities like payment processing, escrow, default management, and regulatory compliance.

This role is ideal for someone who brings industry knowledge, works smart, and is eager to take ownership of QA activities in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Your day-to-day at Sagent:

Quality Control Testing and Analysis:
  • Conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end user requirements.
  • Lead the functional testing efforts for LoanServ enhancements, configurations, or integration projects.
  • Drive test execution, defect management, and provide daily status updates with minimal supervision.
Test Plan and Script Development:
  • Independently author and maintain test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices based on business and technical requirements.
  • Create test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow.
Collaboration and Planning:
  • Bring domain-specific insights to validate servicing logic like default management, escrow accounting, investor reporting, payment processing etc.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and represent QA in sprint planning, grooming, and demos.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analytics, developers, and product owners to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria. 
  • Ensure that system tests are successfully completed and documented, and all problems are resolved.
Policy and Procedure Development:
  • Develop, revise, and approve quality assurance and testing policies, standards, and procedures to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  • Proactively identify process improvements, reusable assets, and automation opportunities.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: 
  • Mentor junior QA analysts and review their test deliverables for completeness and accuracy.
  • Stay up to date with mortgage industry regulations and ensure test coverage for compliance needs

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science,` or relevant discipline with 4 - 6 years of experience in a related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Ability to apply a theoretical knowledge base to achieve goals through your own work, with specific functional expertise typically gained through formal education and experience.
    • Demonstrated experience conducting quality control tests and analyses to ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards and end user requirements.
    • Proficiency in manual QA/testing of products and services, and experience in environments that utilize state-of-the-art software automation applications testing processes.
    • Strong skills in drafting, revising, and approving test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and IT strategy.
    • Ability to create test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow.
    • Experience collaborating with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha and beta testing.
    • Proven ability to ensure that system tests are successfully completed and documented, and all problems are resolved.
    • Capability to develop, revise, and approve quality assurance and testing policies, standards, and procedures.
Additional Skills/Knowledge Preferred: 
  • 3 years on LoanServ or similar mortgage servicing systems. 
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan servicing lifecycle, default management and reporting, investor reporting, escrow administration, etc.
  • Worked on legacy platforms such as mainframe 
  • Mortgage industry certifications (e.g., MBA, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines knowledge).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Basic understanding of automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG) is a plus but not mandatory.
