Overview:

We are a leading mortgage servicing, SaaS-based, financial technology company that thrives on innovation and excellence. We are currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst, Senior – Data & Mortgage Servicing to lead the translation of complex mortgage servicing business needs into scalable data and technology solutions. This individual will serve as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, data engineering teams, solution architects, product management, and software engineering.

The ideal candidate combines deep mortgage servicing expertise with strong technical knowledge of enterprise data warehousing, data modeling, data integration, cloud analytics platforms, and modern data engineering practices, with the ability to engage effectively in technical discussions involving data architecture, ETL/ELT development, APIs, cloud platforms, and modern data ecosystems.

This role will play a critical part in defining business requirements, analyzing complex servicing datasets, supporting enterprise reporting, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Your day-to-day at Sagent:

Business Analysis and Research:

  • Conduct in-depth research and data analysis of the business landscape, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of complex requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, system specifications, data requirements, and technical solutions.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops and collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers.
  • Conduct business process analysis, workflow optimization, root cause analysis, and impact assessments.

Data Analysis and Data Engineering Enablement:

  • Lead data mapping efforts for system conversions, ensuring accurate translation between source and target systems.
  • Analyze source and target data models, identifying data gaps and defining transformation logic.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to validate mappings, perform data cleansing, and support user acceptance testing.
  • Evaluate analytical solutions and recommend improvements to reporting architecture and data accessibility.
  • Provide guidance regarding servicing workflows, business rules, operational impacts, and regulatory considerations associated with technology and data initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively at all levels and across departments, fostering cross-functional cooperation and communication.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, data engineering teams, solution architects, product management, and software engineering to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or relevant discipline with 4 - 6 years of experience in a related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Background in mortgage servicing or financial technology.
  • Proven experience in business systems analysis, with direct exposure to data mapping and/or system conversion projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in evaluating new applications and identifying systems requirements.
  • Proficiency in impact analysis, ensuring alignment of new features with strategic business objectives.
  • Track record of driving the design and implementation of new features to enhance product functionality.

Additional Skills/Technical Knowledge Preferred:

  • Knowledge of a mortgage servicer's typical technology ecosystem including servicing systems, default systems, workflow management, document repositories, ancillary systems, vendor integrations, data integrations, and data warehouses.
  • Experience with SQL and Python for querying, data profiling, and validation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse initiatives.
  • Experience working within cloud-native environments.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Dataproc, Spark, or similar big-data technologies.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture patterns and distributed systems.
  • Experience supporting Agile software development teams.
