About the Role:

The Network Engineer Specialist role at the Network Operation Center represents a pivotal position within Sagent's team. The primary focus of this role is on proactive troubleshooting of network issues, ensuring that any problems detected by Sagent's monitoring tools are addressed promptly and efficiently. The specialist will be expected to actively engage with the Operation Center, collaborating with a team dedicated to maintaining network integrity and performance. This position requires a proactive approach to network management, with a strong emphasis on preemptive measures to prevent downtime and service disruptions. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of network infrastructure, experience with monitoring tools, and a commitment to continuous improvement within the Operation Center's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot Network Issues: Act as the first point of contact for cloud (Azure, AWS, Google) and on-premises network troubleshooting, quickly identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance checks on network infrastructure to prevent potential failures.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Implement and manage network monitoring tools to track performance metrics and identify anomalies before they impact operations.
  • Alert Management: Develop and refine alerting systems (Thousand Eyes, Logic Monitor, Dynatrace) to notify the team of potential issues, ensuring swift action can be taken.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze network usage trends to predict growth and scale network resources accordingly.
  • Incident Management: Respond to and resolve network incidents with clients, documenting actions taken, root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures and network lessons learned to improve future response.
  • Network Optimization: Continuously assess network performance and adjust configurations for optimal functionality.
  • Security Vigilance: Monitor network security, collaborate with the cybersecurity team, and act on alerts regarding potential threats.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide expert-level support and technical guidance to team members and other departments.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on network status and metrics, incident response effectiveness, and areas for improvement.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network setups, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, a related field or 4 – 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven experience in network troubleshooting and operations.
  • Expertise in networking protocols and network management tools preferred.
  • Some cloud networking experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
