About the Opportunity:
Join Sagent as a Senior Technical Writer and help create and build modern product documentation infrastructure. You will be a core part of the product management team working closely with business analysts, project managers and other members of the Client Communications team to create resources that don’t just document what the product does, but accelerates a user from novice to power user.
Day-to-Day responsibilities at Sagent include but not limited to:
- Create, maintain, and improve product documentation, including release notes, process documentation, user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, and in-product content such as tooltips and instructions.
- Own the end-to-end documentation lifecycle, from understanding requirements and product changes through authoring, editing, publishing, and maintenance.
- Translate complex software and technical concepts into clear, accurate, and engaging content for different audiences.
- Build client learning aids beyond traditional documentation, including videos, demos, guided tours, and other educational content.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure documentation is complete, consistent, timely, and aligned with product releases.
- Gather customer and stakeholder feedback, monitor usage where available, and use insights to improve documentation and prioritize future content investments.
- Understand and help improve current documentation processes, templates, and publishing practices.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Completion of a four-year college degree in a relevant discipline +6 years of experience in a related field or completion of an advanced degree (masters or higher) in an applicable and relevant field +5 years of related experience in an applicable field, or experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- The candidate must have prior experience working with U.S.-based companies and demonstrate strong proficiency in U.S. English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated experience owning an end-to-end technical documentation process in a software or technology environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, editorial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively across product, engineering, and business teams.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and MadCap content management and publishing tools is preferred.
- Positive, collaborative, and proactive approach to new challenges.
- SaaS experience is preferred; prior experience in the U.S. Mortgage or financial services industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with Camtasia or other video editing software is a plus.
