Location: Bangalore, India (Offshore)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About SAI Group

SAI Group is a private investment firm that has committed $1 billion to incubate and scale revolutionary AI-powered enterprise software application companies. Our portfolio, a testament to our success, comprises rapidly growing AI companies that collectively cater to over 2,000+ major global customers, approaching $600 million in annual revenue, and employing a global workforce of over 4,000 individuals.

SAI Group invests in new ventures based on breakthrough AI-based products that have the potential to disrupt existing enterprise software markets. SAI Group’s latest investment, JazzX, is a pioneering technology company which is building a platform that will not only shape the future of enterprise AI applications but also offer practical solutions to real-world challenges.

Role Overview

As JazzX’s Mortgage Loan Processing SME, you will be the single-domain authority for U.S. residential mortgage loan processing across product, engineering, and operations. You will own how processing workflows — file setup, document collection and review, third-party service ordering, condition clearing, and submission to underwriting and closing — are defined, explained, and operationalized into the JazzX Mortgage Application.

This is a hands-on position based in our Bangalore office, working closely with the product and engineering teams. You will process representative loan files, document every step, decision, and exception in detail, and translate that operational knowledge into product requirements, decision rules, test cases, and validation programs for AI-assisted processing.

JazzX is building AI products that automate and assist U.S. residential mortgage origination and fulfillment. Our product and engineering teams bring deep AI and software expertise, but they do not come from the mortgage industry. This role exists to close that gap: you will embed with the product team as a hands-on domain expert, bringing real operational mortgage experience into product design and product build at a very detailed level — from workflow maps and edge cases down to field-level definitions, decision rules, and acceptance criteria.

What You’ll Do

Hands-On Processing & Workflow Documentation

  • Process representative U.S. residential mortgage files (conventional, FHA, VA, purchase and refinance) end-to-end: file intake and setup, initial document review, ordering and tracking third-party services (credit, title, appraisal, VOE/VOI/VOM, flood, MI), and preparing complete files for underwriting submission.
  • Document, at field level, how processors review income, asset, credit, and collateral documents — what they check, what triggers a follow-up, what constitutes a complete and accurate file, and how exceptions are handled.
  • Capture common document defects, missing-item patterns, and rework loops that drive cycle time, so the product can be designed to detect and prevent them.

Product Design Partnership

  • Embed with the product team as the voice of the processor persona; review product specs, AI assistant behaviors, document classification and data extraction outputs, and condition workflows against real-world processing practice.
  • Define acceptance criteria, edge cases, and test scenarios for processing-facing features — including document checklists by loan type, validation rules, and stacking-order conventions.
  • Help design how AI-generated outputs (document reviews, data extraction, condition suggestions) should be presented to processors so they are trusted and actionable.

Condition Lifecycle & Pipeline Management

  • Specify how processing and underwriting conditions are received, assigned, communicated to borrowers and loan officers, tracked, and cleared — including ownership, SLAs, and escalation paths.
  • Map how processors manage pipelines, prioritize files against lock expirations and closing dates, and coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, and closers.

LOS, Data & Compliance Context

  • Map LOS screens, fields, and milestones (e.g., Encompass) to processing activities so canonical data objects and integrations reflect how processing actually works.
  • Flag compliance touchpoints relevant to processing (TRID timelines and redisclosure triggers, change of circumstance, ECOA notification timelines, document retention) so product designs are defensible.

Validation, QA & Knowledge Transfer

  • Blind-test AI/automation outputs against manual processor work; quantify discrepancies, diagnose root causes, and prioritize remediation.
  • Train product and engineering teams on processing fundamentals; build and maintain playbooks, checklists, and persona documentation; serve as primary domain reviewer for processing-related specs and release readiness.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on U.S. residential mortgage loan processing experience, ideally including senior processor, team lead, SME, or quality/training roles within a mortgage BPO/KPO, captive, or U.S. lender offshore operation.
  • Deep, current knowledge of U.S. mortgage documentation and processing requirements across conventional (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac), FHA, and VA loans — income/asset/credit documentation, AUS findings interpretation at a processing level, and third-party service requirements.
  • Practical experience with major LOS platforms (Encompass or equivalent) and document management systems; ability to map LOS fields and milestones to processing tasks.
  • Strong working knowledge of TRID timelines, redisclosure triggers, and processing-relevant compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to document workflows, checklists, and exception handling in clear, structured, audit-ready formats.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; comfortable working directly with U.S.-based and India-based product and engineering teams across time zones.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to translate processing experience into explicit rules, field-level requirements, and structured test cases.
  • Strong attention to detail and a validation mindset — able to spot where automated outputs diverge from correct processing practice and explain why.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving product and engineering environment rather than a production-volume environment.
  • Collaborative and proactive; able to teach mortgage fundamentals to non-mortgage colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in mortgage operations roles at large BPO/KPO providers, global capability centers, or technology vendors serving U.S. lenders.
  • Prior involvement in process documentation, training content creation, quality audit, or automation/AI initiatives.
  • Exposure to pre-underwriting review, condition clearing specialization, or closing support functions in addition to core processing.
