ROLE OVERVIEW

The Activation Specialist will work across an exciting mix of US clients across different industries, providing day-to-day support to the wider media team, with a focus on activation and optimization of digital channels.

You will need to be highly proficient in media implementation, the digital media landscape, and performance marketing. This includes a strong understanding of social media platforms, programmatic channels, Google Analytics, and vendor management.

You will develop strong trust-based relationships with both clients and agency team members. Curiosity and common sense are essential to staying up to date on platform and partner capabilities and identifying opportunities for clients and the broader team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with the team to support implementation, optimization, and reporting for key clients.
  • Work directly with the team to assist with overall client planning and day-to-day client requests.
  • Work directly with media partners to book, implement, and report on campaigns.
  • Support the preparation, writing, and presentation of integrated media plans, proposals, and analyses that satisfy client objectives and go beyond the brief.
  • Maintain stewardship and accountability of media plans, regularly evaluating and monitoring execution to implement meaningful optimizations.
  • Liaise and foster knowledge sharing with other disciplines internally, partner agencies, and departments to ensure media and client knowledge remains current.
  • Ensure all media plans adhere to the agency's values, philosophies, and processes.
  • Contribute ideas and opinions on clients' businesses, agency operations, and industry trends; establish a presence within the agency and contribute in meetings.
  • Maintain awareness of client KPIs and objectives, ensuring tracking is in place for regular check-ins.
  • Accurately and effectively manage clients' day-to-day planning requirements, with a strong understanding of business objectives and KPIs.
  • Influence decision-making by encouraging appropriate strategies and communicating the benefits of media recommendations to clients.
  • Participate in additional agency and team projects as required.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments at Salt, ensuring digital media requirements are understood and helping teams provide assets as needed.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience at a media agency in a digital-focused role.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or Advertising required.
  • Prior hands-on experience with paid social business manager accounts and programmatic DSPs is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Prior hands-on experience with Google Data Studio is an asset but not required.
  • Hands-on experience planning, implementing, optimizing, and reporting for Fortune 100 brands.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge across all facets of the digital marketing space, including CRM, SEO, SEM, programmatic, social, mobile, and video.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager is an asset.
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative thinking, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $60,000–$75,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of SALT’s total rewards program.
