Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
Highly motivated individual supporting the Facilities Operations Group. The Thermal Engineering Technical Lead is responsible for an engineering team of 5+ employees that are responsible for managing the day-to-day thermal engineering of a multi-Fab Semiconductor facility. The thermal scope includes boilers, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, makeup outside air handling units, DX systems, pumping and filtration systems, computer room AC units, process cooling water systems. Responsible for ensuring all aspects of day-to-day thermal equipment are reliable, efficient and meet safety and environmental compliance requirements. Thermal Engineering (TL) leads, mentors and coordinates technical projects for the team. The leader will also support other teams within Facilities Operations Management (FOM) group as part of the overall FOM Leadership Team.
Specific Job Duties:
Lead, develop, and mentor team of 5+ engineers who are responsible for:
- Promoting a safe work environment using a process safety mindset
- Ensuring equipment achieves quality specifications required for Fab production
- Overseeing project management for projects within the thermal scope, including project development and execution
- Cultivating, sustaining and managing collaboration to ensure site safety, quality of operation, and environmental stewardship
• Collaborates with operational supervisors to understand current needs of Thermal systems
• Provide day to day support of Operational, Maintenance and Engineering issues within FOM
• Lead incident response and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams in containing and correcting problems
• Lead team in monitoring and identifying issues within systems including quality and capacity concerns
• Implement processes & procedures to improve and standardize work across the team & site
• Leads Task Force Teams (TFT) to make department wide improvements
• Perform cost and forecasting for all operational and maintenance needs for exhaust equipment
• Lead team in developing standard operating procedures and assist in implementation
• Provide industry contributions through conferences and other professional organizations
• Test and implement innovative new technologies to solve business needs and improve operation
Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)
Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience
• Previous experience in plant operations, reliability engineering, or design engineering
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
• Professional Engineer’s license a plus
• Exhibit commitment to a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly adaptable to rapidly changing business needs and initiatives
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills for assessing problems and developing corrective actions

• Demonstrate ability to build strong, influential relationships
• Be able to interface professionally and effectively with all levels of management
• Be proficient with Microsoft Windows based applications
• Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be able to coordinate and communicate technical information to and from all levels of the organization.
• Experience working at an advanced manufacturing facility such as a semiconductor manufacturing plant.
