Summary

As a valued member of the trade compliance team (Corporate Counsel Dept.), the Import/Export Compliance Specialist is responsible for the supporting the trade compliance function within the trade compliance team focusing on exports as well as imports. This includes the daily support for export and import shipments by support of broker requests, assigning ECCNS, HTS codes, daily file audit and review, and working with other company departments to facilitate the import and export activities of the company.  

Here's What You'll be Responsible For:

  • Research and classify parts for export compliance – determining accurate ECCN’s and schedule B numbers
  • Research and respond to Customs requests for information in a timely manner as prescribed by regulation.
  • Research and classify new parts for imports according to the HTSUS (Harmonized Tariff System of the US) and assist in risk assessment reviews including quarterly internal assessments for imports and exports
  • Assist with the annual preparation and distribution of C-TPAT supply chain security letters to suppliers and service providers
  • Perform Customs portal update of C-TPAT program and review ACE portal for updates and reports used to maintain compliance
  • Maintain and update the parts data base with current HTS and ECCN numbers and review relevant federal government agency requirements that include: FDA, FCC, and APHIS
  • Conduct internal audits and prescribe corrective measures

The Successful Candidate Will Possess:

• 3+ years of exp working with customs broker, freight forwarder or exporter/importer (with direct import/export experience) + working knowledge of import and exports shipments
• Working knowledge of the AES (Automated Export System), EEI (Electronic Export Information) and ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) .
• Knowledge of Customs regulations (19 CFR) and tariff classification (HTSUS)
• Strong working knowledge of the EAR (Export Administration Regulations), SNAP-R, and export licensing

NOTE: The current base salary range for this role is between $85,47 and $145,530.  Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
