Position Summary:
Samsung seeks a talented junior to mid-level litigator to manage a docket of patent infringement matters out of our Mountain View location. As a part of this team, you will be tasked to own and solve problems. You will be at the forefront of federal court practice along with the potential of being a part of grounding breaking patent law issues. In addition, this lawyer will have the opportunity to work on non-patent intellectual property matters, including Samsung’s anti-counterfeit/brand enforcement efforts. Position Responsibilities:
- Manage high exposure patent litigation matters
- Oversee the preparation of witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial
- Formulate winning litigation strategies and tactics
- Assist in drafting and reviewing briefs, motions, and court pleadings
- Manage litigation fees and costs
- Coordinate internal document collection and production
- Advise management and internal teams on impactful issues
- Assist with anti-counterfeit/brand enforcement matters
- Attend industry conferences to gain insights and network with peers
Experience Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate and licensed to practice law in the State of California or qualify to register as California in-house counsel or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5+ years’ experience of patent litigation at a law firm and/or as an in-house counsel
- Broad range of patent litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, arguing dispositive motions, jury/bench trial, arbitration and mediation, investigations before the International Trade Commission, PTAB-related proceedings, and experience before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to formulate successful litigation strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team consisting of members from different regions, countries, and business units, including the ability to be diplomatic and culturally sensitive
- Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability
- Openness to feedback, actively seeks constructive criticism, and integrates it to continuously improve performance

Base Pay Range
$192,300 - $264,550 USD
