2025 Summer Intern, Full Stack Software Engineer
Lab Summary:
Digital Health Lab is the U.S. branch of the Samsung Global Health Services business. We have product management, UX, user research, data scientists, and software engineering co-located to create the future of wellness and clinical care using user-centric design thinking and agile designer-developer workflow.
Position Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and hard-working software engineer who is interested in taking concepts through various stages of prototyping using various technologies making our experiences real and exposing them to users to make them great.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain health focused features, products and tools.
- Be responsible for unit and integration level testing.
- Troubleshoot and analyze system level issues end to end.
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams (design, research, product, QA) throughout the program lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor or M.Sc. or PhD student in Computer Science.
- Solid programming skill in Java language.
- Hands on Experience implementing REST / GraphQL APIs and highly scalable systems.
- Hands on experience working with SQL or other types of databases.
- Hands on experience implementing website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices and React.js.
- Hands on experience integrating data from backend services and databases, good knowledge about microservice architecture.
- Hands-on experience in AWS, Lambda, Dynamo is highly desired.
- Hands on experience in Kubernetes and Docker is highly preferred.
- Experience in FHIR is highly desired.
- Experience in multiple programming languages: Kotlin, Scala/Python is desired.
- Good communication/presentation skill and teamwork spirit.
- Experience in any one or more of the following technologies (nice to have):
- Hadoop
- HDFS/MongoDB/Phoenix
- Spark/Kafka
- ELK
Hourly Pay Rate Range
$36 - $63 USD
